RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 28-02-2019 Because he wants Brexit to happen and, like many other Brexit "wing n a prayer" people, it suits his agenda to poo poo any kinda negative info that doesn't match up to his own optimistic agenda without any substance attached to it!!!! Well over two years of watching and listenng to people who want Brexit to happen, a lot has been learned re all the different rhetorical techniques and innuendo employed by the same kinda folk who want to leave the nasty EU, some of them downright stupid (not all of them btw), others programmed by propanganda orchestrators like The Sun, The Daily Mail (now it has changed it's "tune" with a new editor) and many other ones that spoon fed the same EU detractors for the past 30 years!! I live with some older family members who talk this way - "but The Sun said this or The Sun said that"....blah blah blah. Sad but true!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 01-03-2019 I still don't get how the "backstop is being used as a trap by the EU" thinking came about, it was may's idea in the first place. not to mention that a UK wide customs union was a CONCESSION from the EU, at the request of the UK. They preferred a special status for NI only. An endless backstop is a spectacularly good deal for the UK. Sadly the DUP/ERG wont play ball. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 01-03-2019 American drug and food companies making their pitch now for a post brexit deal . Chorinated chicken and overpriced drugs to a carved up NHS heading your way. And folk think we are scaremongering RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 02-03-2019 Yep! It compares very well with that early unqualified Brexit opinion/assurance that "exiting the EU is a simple exercise" lol! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 04-03-2019 https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/prime-ministers-brexit-fund-struggling-15916916 This story just confirms the Tory disregard for the north of England! But what is new re this "them and us attitude" anyway? A lotta people in England really wanna "smell the coffee" when it comes to Tories and Tory incompetence together with an unholy alliance with a bunch of devils called the DUP who are "out of touch" with their own electorate re the need for a Brexit deal!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 04-03-2019 Thing is its already been shown up to be a lot,lot less than these areas would have got from EU funding. Last month, CPMR published their analysis which highlights that the UK would be eligible to a €13bn regional funding over a 7 year period if it remained in the EU. South Yorkshire - along with Lincolnshire, east midlands, Tees Valley & Durham. That's 11.4bn more than Mays bribe. There is something deeply wrong if those Labour MPs take that payoff. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 06-03-2019 https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1096334/Brexit-news-UK-EU-Theresa-May-deal-vote-Ireland-backstop-Geoffrey-Cox-latest EU talks incomplete again and just before the "meaningful vote"!!?? No surprise there! If this f###### Brexit farce does not go back to the people then it is time the people "took to the streets" of London and started "playing hard ball" against these morons!! Democracy at work? My arse!!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 06-03-2019 "He says he knows the TUC and Labour would like the UK to automatically match new EU rules boosting workers’ rights. But that is not the government’s position, he says. He says the government does not think there would be any point leaving the EU if that were the case." Greg clark lets it slip in the commons what the tories plans are. They can’t guarantee that we would meet the minimum workers rights within the EU because then there would be no reason to leave the EU, but they have no intention of reducing workers rights? Pull the other one. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 06-03-2019 It is also intriguing that there is a significant proportion of people who effectively played a big part in making Brexit happen and they are in the "oldie category" and don't work any more!! Huhhh!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 07-03-2019 "They have no clue,” said one official handling Brexit, who added that the UK’s ideas were becoming “crazier and crazier” ![]() ![]() |
