RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Imre varadi - 13-06-2016 they have been warned its automatic promotion or holidays here ![]() RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 14-06-2016 (13-06-2016, 18:33)Daffodils on the piano Wrote: If you do not vote in elections or the referendum then you can't complain about anything.I think I'll vote out and when it all goes tits up I'll sit back and laugh my bollocks off.And if it goes well I'll tell people that I knew I was right. Can't lose.Too many unkowns though if we leave and the lack of facts from both sides does not help. In all seriousness I agree with this, but I won't be voting as I haven't lived there for 15 years so I feel it really has nothing to do with me as I do not intend to move back. I disagree. It's my God given right as an Englishman to avoid compromising my beliefs and vote for someone that I neither like or trust. It's also my right as a miserable get to complain about whatever I like! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Statesideowl - 14-06-2016 I've never subscribed to the view that if you didn't vote on something, for whatever the reason. You don't have a right to an opinion on it. It's treading a very Orwellian line in my opinion, you can't remove someone's right to an opinion because they didn't practice the semblance of Democracy.. It's not even a Democracy anyway, It amazes me that people still believe the ruling class would ever let peasants simply 'Vote' their power & wealth away. ![]() That said I agree with Charlie too. This will affect my family & friends but it will not affect me as there's no chance I'm ever going to move back to that slowly sinking, tar pit. On another positive & depressing not. I was proud to be part a vigil last night supporting the LGBT community. Another truly disgusting attack on the people by a cowardly little bigot xxxx. RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Statesideowl - 15-06-2016 Well, the temps this week are a consistent 95F all week with a low of 75F. Heat index hitting 110. So I'll be even more of a miserable bastard than usual. ![]() The plus side is I'm a grilling machine, tonight it's Steaks & Asparagus on the grill with some cous-cous. ( not on the grill of course) Don't lie you want some ![]() RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 15-06-2016 House hunting down in the beach cities of Orange County this week for me. Weather is in the mid to late 70s, so spot on for just about anything!!! Going to get into the 100's next wk here though!! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Statesideowl - 15-06-2016 Weathers always perfect in Cali. Moving to the OC now? You must be climbing faster than Virginia creeper. ![]() Good place to get your Med license too. ![]() RE: Thread For Anything But Football - peiowl - 15-06-2016 (14-06-2016, 15:52)Statesideowl Wrote: I've never subscribed to the view that if you didn't vote on something, for whatever the reason. I was at one too Stateside. So shocking. And deplorable that Trump is exploiting it in his usual crude and ignorant way. RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Jacko The Flopsy Piglet - 15-06-2016 I know this goes against what most people on here think but here goes. I like living in Britain, England especially. There I said it. I know it's not perfect and the weather is always worth a grumble but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. Except Australia, but the wife won't entertain it! PS. One hundred degrees is the boiling point of water in the modern world! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Statesideowl - 15-06-2016 Agreed, PEI. Trump is a truly loathsome. There's very little he wouldn't say. The saddest part is the huge turnout following him as he validates everything that is wrong in the World. Nothing wrong with that, Jacko! I think it's just a few of us ex-pats that would never go back. I have plenty of friends that feel the same way. I've asked them if they think they'll ever leave, as Britain slowly spirals out of control. They all say the same, 'This is my ancestral home' in a round-about way. Just the other day I had this conversation with a friend back home and I left with them this slightly camp, but fitting response. "Seeds from Trees float on the breeze and take root wherever they rest, they will always remain a part of the original tree regardless" Some people are born to move around, some people never leave Huddersfield. Neither are wrong, as long as you're always broadening your horizon! The heat index hitting 110F is a combination of high humidity and 95F heat. One hundred degrees Celsius would be much, more painful. ![]() |
