Manila Gabbiadin for £17m and 40k a week to Southampton. That's a deal we should top Trump because he's a great striker.

If Marc Wilson signs then it will be similar to when Hodgson signed Keith Andrews. It won't set the world alight but he will do a solid job when needed.

He has played mainly at centre back over the past couple of seasons with Stoke and Bournemouth but can also cover Brunt at left back and Yacob in defensive midfield. He also knows Tony Pulis' methods and what is expected from him.

I think he'd have been an asset to the squad. So why didn't we have a go for him? Anyone?

Because BBB I believe we have no intention of buying any more new quality players other than Livermore.
All the talk spouted by the club is just kidums and a PA excercise in an attempt to placate the fans.

Disheartening.

Baggie Man it's not
We had a offer accepted for Fonte by Southampton and offered him 65k a week
He choose westham for less money, for the bright lights of London,
We tabled £18 Million for Schneiderlin but Everton offered 22
We have tried , maybe there is no one else Pulis fancies just to top up this Window
Like yourself I'm a little disappointed but what do we want ? to sign someone for the sake of it?

On another note we have just turned down a bid of £32 Million for Rondon Sick

Understand West Brom have made a bid of around £10m for #saintsfc striker Jay Rodriguez. It's a long shot, but they are trying... #wba

RONDON BID REJECTED

West Brom have rejected a £32million offer for Salomon Rondon from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian, according to the Daily Mail.

Tony Pulis has said the striker is not for sale at any price.

As much as I rate Rondon there is no way he is valued at £32m. The world has gone feckin barmy.

So as I see it - we might do nothing in the transfer window.

But there is sufficient noise to suggest we might buy or loan at least one more player - from maybe this list below:

Defenders:
Kurt Zouma (Chelsea) - Possible loan
Romain Thomas (Angers) - Loan or purchase

Midfielders:
Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea) – Possible loan
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) - Possible loan

Strikers:
Jay Rodriguez (Southampton) – Seems most likely based on tonight's rumour
Odion Ighalo (Watford) – Outside chance of a loan but Watford saying China or nothing
Scott Hogan (Brentford) – Long shot but he wants to play in Premier League
Leonardo Ulloa (Leicester) - Very doubtful but he looks like he wants to leave Leicester

Then of course there might be a surprise as this is West Bromwich Albion

Thats all we need....... Hope it doesn`t unsettle the lad. Can`t afford another sulker. DD Angry Angry

RE: 2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 31-01-2017

Is there not a limit on the number of loans we can take ?

Personally, I'm not a fan of loans as the success rate is very low unless you can pick up someone like Lukaku. The only other possible exceptions are loans with an option to purchase whereby the player has a possible long term future at the club and is therefore motivated to perform.
