RE: Match Thread - Stoke City v The Owls (LCQF) - consilio - 02-12-2015 Wildsmith looked ok but is still obviously very inexperienced and his kicking was very poor. Wiggins looked OK, he's certainly a decent squad player and can keep pushing Pudil for the shirt. Although Joao and Hooper had poor service they did little to create for themselves. Joao tried a trick or a back heel every time the ball came near him when on several occasions he could have found a teammate. He's still got a long way to go before he's the finished article. Hooper looks horrendously unfit, slow, poor in the air and short of confidence. I thought McGugan immediately made us more of a threat going forward. His table of passing was excellent and he looks to have a go when in range. If Hunt was at fault for slipping over for the first goal then Hutchinson was 100% to blame for their second when he made a needless challenge in a dangerous position. He's my favourite player but also the most frustrating at times. RE: Match Thread - Stoke City v The Owls (LCQF) - Statesideowl - 02-12-2015 Even CC was spinning on the touchline when Hutch gave them the first needless freekick dead centre of the D Hutch was probably one of the better performers last night, he stood out more due to how poor the rest of midfield & defence were performing. Quite honestly it's the nature of Hutch's game. He's physical, his mentality is that of an old skool player. These days it takes nothing to make a continental player, or even some British players these days, to start rolling around on the floor like they've been shot. I don't see his inherent mentality changing, he might be able to work on his game being less physical. However, in the heat of the moment Hutchinson will more often than not drop his man. Great instinct, a natural footballer. Would never be at a club like Sheff Wed were it not for his constant injuries.
