Latest Best Odds:

4/11 Carvalhal
8/1 Allardyce
9/1 Sheridan
10/1 Lambert
14/1 Jokanovic
25/1 Carbone, McKinley, Poyet, Warburton, Eriksson,
Does that mean Roeder will make all the signings?

It will be the Committee (although I hate that word) which gives better continuity. Obviously the HC is on the committee and has 25% input. It should avoid the wholesale change of coaching staff that occurs with each managerial change and often large turnover of players.

I do also think that there is an agent link up here which means that he will be involved in scouting players for us.

For me this guy would be a brave and out the blue risk. His statistics aren't great and can he even speak the lingo? Guess semedo and melo could double up as interpreter? He supposedly likes attacking football but his previous win rates aren't great 50% max. He has never even coached over here. He is apparently thought of by the Chelsea boss but does that mean owt? It will be a strange decision... There are more obvious options out there.

Hence the one year deal!!  His win percentage is pretty good I thought.  I think he will be brought in to change our style of play completely and install it throughout the club.  He seems to be well thought of as a tactician and formation expert, that is what we were lacking last season, so at least that will improve.  Mourinho was unknown when he got the top job at Porto having worked his way through the club, every manager has to start somewhere, if we happen to unearth a gem then we will be set for some good times, if not, he is only here for no more than a year!!

It won't be Warburton Confused

Personally, I can't understand why everybody thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread Cool

He did a great job at Brentford.

He was my pick for the job.

RE: New Manager Thread - madsteve - 15-06-2015

Warburton is very impressive & a deep thinker.

Maybe one day.

RE: New Manager Thread - St Charles Owl - 15-06-2015

It will be interesting to see how Warburton fares at Rangers, the expectations up there are huge and the hatred between them and Celtic is a different world for most outsiders!! I would have liked to see him come to us but didn't he leave Brentford due to not wanting to work for a committee??

RE: New Manager Thread - Washington - 15-06-2015

Jokanavich gone to manage Macabi Tel Aviv - another good candidate bites the dust.

I'm beginning to think that there really was a bust up with SG and DC thats caught us a bit flat footed but maybe all will be revealed tomorrow and we can loan Chelsea's reserves if the rumor on Jose's recommendation is true.

RE: New Manager Thread - madsteve - 15-06-2015

There have been several disagreements between DC & SG.

Firstly, DC wanted to sit in on team meetings but SG refused. The biggest was over SG saying that he would have the final say in transfers after DC had told him that he wouldn't.

In truth, it has worked out best for both parties. We get rid of SG and SG leaves with his reputation intact so he should be able to pick up another decent job, which probably wouldn't have been the case had he stayed much longer.
