RE: WBA Transfer Window - 18th January 2018 - SomersetBaggie - 19-01-2018 (19-01-2018, 13:01)drewks Wrote: Pretty sure this has been asked before, but has anyone got a grip on the FFP rules? If so can you explain slowly and simply please? It seems ridiculous that, say Man Utd can spend (was it something like) £250m in the summer, and still spend now, pay the mercenary 500k a fekin week, AND STILL be within these rules, yet we've got to sell before we can do any business?! Clubs can spend up to €5million more than they earn per assessment period (three years). However it can exceed this level to a certain limit, if it is entirely covered by a direct contribution/payment from the club owner(s) or a related party. This prevents the build-up of unsustainable debt. The limits are: • €45m for assessment periods 2013/14 and 2014/15 • €30m for assessment periods 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 In order to promote investment in stadiums, training facilities, youth development and women’s football (from 2015), all such costs are excluded from the break-even calculation. So my understanding of this is that Mr Lai could contribute 30 million euros and this would not be included in the calculations. RE: WBA Transfer Window - 18th January 2018 - Baggievicar - 19-01-2018 What do we want? NEWS OF A TRANSFER! When do we want it? NOW! ![]() ![]() RE: WBA Transfer Window - 18th January 2018 - SomersetBaggie - 19-01-2018 (19-01-2018, 16:06)Baggievicar Wrote: What do we want? NEWS OF A TRANSFER! Do not think we will hear anything until Evans moves. If he does not move, it will be a couple of unexciting loans on deadline day. RE: WBA Transfer Window - 18th January 2018 - Beefy 1965 - 20-01-2018 FFS !! Brighton have broken their transfer record to sign striker Jurgen Locadia from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. The Premier League side have reportedly paid a fee of about £14m for the 24-year-old Dutchman, who has scored nine goals in 15 games for PSV this season. Burnley have agreed a fee with Everton for Aaron Lennon FFS !!! RE: WBA Transfer Window - 18th January 2018 - WBA-Josh - 20-01-2018 Unfortunately we are stuck waiting for the Evans situation to be sorted. The club can't sign anyone (maybe a loan) until Evans leaves and as usual the big clubs have their fingers in their arses when doing business with us. Tottenham did the same with Berahino. If Evans goes, the club can get moving on signings. If Evans doesn't go then we're left with one or two loan signings which is not ideal. Still 12 more whole days left so need to truly panic just yet. In my opinion, Brighton signing Locadia means nothing. He's a top striker in the Eredivesie but that doesn't mean he'll be good enough for the Premier League. He'll either be Ruud van Nistolrooy 2.0 or Siem de Jong 2.0.
