Football can be a money whore can't it?
First we have this charade of a friendly international where we 'honour' our record goalscorer and give him another cap.
All the monies go to his foundation....err no they don't.....only the bucket collection outside the ground do. The gate receipts and sales inside the stadium go to the FA. An extra 20,000 ticket sales when people knew Rooney was playing will have got the FA patting their own backs all night.
And after that farce, we learn that the Premier League are going to give outgoing chairman Scudamore a £5M bonus. All from the £250K donations of the current 20 Premier League teams. This is a man paid £2.5M per year by them. Who has had contractual bonuses every time he re-negotiated a new TV rights deal which must total millions. And he is going to still be paid to be a consultant.
I really hope Town were one of those alleged 5 that said no to this. And even if we did, it is still going through. So if we don't give our £250K, who paid it for us?

They'll take it out of what they owe us. They pay half the brass up front and the rest during and at the end of the season depending on where you finish.

I think it's ridiculous. If premier league have to give money to anyone, what about all the little clubs that go out of business for lack of much less money, not to make a rich man richer. It stinks.

We're filling foodbanks outside the ground but yet the club are having to give this gift of a quarter of a million pounds to this already multi millionaire!
