RE: Suggestions for changes to the forum - Stairs - 05-12-2014

Guys - We do pester the forum development people all the time about the mobile option and are assured it is coming very soon.

In the meantime Mark has added a few seasonal smilies WalkingHohohoLaughing

Imre, I recognize that your post is mainly in jest!!! The smilies are not controlled by the owners, its the software developers who decide what a smilie looks like and what the coding is for them. My main concern is to get the smilies available on the quick reply section and to get the mobile version more user friendly.

Can we get the times corrected.

They always show as two hours later than the actual UK time.

I wasn't aware there was a problem with the times?? Mine shows up correctly. Have you checked the time settings in your user options? I will bring this up to Mark.

The short answer is - no.

RE: Suggestions for changes to the forum - St Charles Owl - 10-12-2014

Why do you want bigger profile pictures?? I think that would detract from the content of the post, which after all is what we are interested in!! I haven't seen any forums that have bigger profile pictures, they all seem the same size.

With regards to why, there is only so much that can be done with the software that is used, the basic layout of the forum follows the software layout and only certain aspect can be changed.

RE: Suggestions for changes to the forum - Thurnscoe_OWL - 10-12-2014

it was something imre asked for ages ago and it popped into my head earlier. The whole point of a profile picture is to identify posters and for posters to put across a bit of their own personality so I just thought it was a good suggestion.

There are forums with bigger profile pics but if it can't/won't be done on here then fair do's. I'd appreciate my questions for further information NOT being deleted though because it makes it look like I haven't followed up when in actual fact it's just because people can't be arsed answering.

This site uses the same basic software that New606 and others use, and none of them have avatars any different from on here. I agree with the identification aspect, but this is achieved mainly with the username with the avatar and the signature as add ons to that. As I say, imo the prime position and space should be given to the post itself rather than the peripheral content.

When you post a comment in a thread and no one else replies but you then go back some time later and go to post another comment it edits the post and puts a line through. Can that be changed so it just creates it's own comment rather than looks like an edit?
