RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (19 May) - Beefy 1965 - 19-05-2017 (19-05-2017, 11:53)Stairs Wrote: Defoe wants a £6m signing on fee - what a greedy B he is - has earned a fortune already and will get paid a ridiculous amount in wages. But no, Gotta fill up the bank balance with a huge signing on fee. And a two year contract at 100k a year !!!!!!!!!! £6m signing-on fee plus £ 100k week for a 2-year contract comes to £16.4m total, or £160k week overall, which would be bonkers for a 34 year old. The "free" transfer is not really real at over £16 Mill is it ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (19 May) - Worldclassalbion - 20-05-2017 Defoe is a proven goal scorer, always has been and would continue to do so in an attacking side............................so no good whatsoever to us while Pulis is here. The club would recoup the monies from possibly finishing higher in the league. Rondon cost 13 million and I would imagine his wages have taken us well over the total price confirmed for Defoe's services. I know where my money would go despite his age. People like Defoe and Kevin Phillips don't come along very often and we should have kept Superkev for another couple of seasons..........natural goal scorers are worth the money. Don't remember the other guy. That said, it's a pretty poor standard in Serie A, so a bit step up to the Premier League.
