RE: WBA vs West Ham - FA Cup Fifth Round Match Thread - silverbaggie - 15-02-2015 What do we have to do to get some recognition and a bit of the credit we deserve from these broadcasters? If we had won by 8-0 they still wouldn't have put our game on first and post match 'experts' would still concentrate their comments on our out of form and obviously unlucky opponents. ![]() Like someone else said earlier I think we will get Reading in the next round and, I doubt that insignificant game will be chosen to be televised live!! WHAT IF!!! Just think if Adrian's red card had not been conveniently rescinded we might have scored even more. Had Craig Gardner's 35 yard screamer gone in and not come back off the woodwork, it would have been a contender for goal of the month. All in all Tony.............. some improvement is still required if we are going to win the hearts and minds of the BBC, Sky etc.... ![]() RE: WBA vs West Ham - FA Cup Fifth Round Match Thread - tidy - 15-02-2015 It was good to see TP involve Gamboa in yesterdays game. Pulis seems to have a knack at this man-management lark... ![]() RE: WBA vs West Ham - FA Cup Fifth Round Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 15-02-2015 (15-02-2015, 09:40)silverbaggie Wrote: What do we have to do to get some recognition and a bit of the credit we deserve from these broadcasters? Not sure silver but I think as we have made the last 8 all the Quarter Finals WILL be broadcast ![]() RE: WBA vs West Ham - FA Cup Fifth Round Match Thread - drewks - 15-02-2015 To be fair, when that cool, hip, suave and sophisticated Big Sam started to blurb on about his poor team's busy schedule - playing Sunday, Wednesday and then Saturday - the pundits DID point out that THAT was exactly what our schedule was too! Oh dear - run out of excuses then Sam? Perhaps you're NOT quite as good as you thought you were! What else can possibly explain Brown Ideye suddenly looking the complete centre forward, Chris Brunt turning into a competent left back and Tony Pulis embracing entertainment? Excellent today, as was Wednesday. Best comment I've read from one West Ham website was that Brown Ideye's performance was possibly the best they've seen from an opposition player this season. Not a dig at all, I've been as astonished as anyone with his recent transformation. As for Pulis, if he continues to play in the style of the last 2 matches then I'll be happy with him. It helps that he's playing full backs who are comfortable crossing the half way line and 2 forwards who play close together. Can't help wondering what we would have been like if Vic hadn't got injured or we'd bought Cole though. Big Vic got injured, he's getting treatment and we're doing ok without him, and we didn't buy Carlton Cole because Spurs pulled the plug on Adebayor going to West Ham. We're doing ok! Exactly right Aries ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs West Ham - FA Cup Fifth Round Match Thread - BaggieMan - 15-02-2015 If Brown Ideye's form continues even at half what it has been in the last three games, Big Vic Sicknote won't stand a prayer of getting into the team. Personally, I don't rate Vic that highly and with the best will in the world, his goal return hasn't exactly been scintillating I think we should try and move him on in the summer and replace with a more reliable less injury prone player. Sorry Sicknote but that's how I see it. Sorry Sicknote but that's how I see it. I agree BaggieMan. Vic just ain't up to it, and I think (hey - what do I know?) that it's mental rather than physical - a proffessional sportsman just CAN'T be as injury prone as him, surely? Especially a huge brute of a bloke in a predominantly non-contact sport, which is how football is these days. Trouble is I think he had similar experiences at Everton too*, so who's going to want to buy him? Maybe a team that's just come up? The frustrating thing is that you can see there's a good player in there somewhere, but he's just always got a reason why he's not available. *Why the feck did WE buy him then?? ![]() |
