RE: Transfers - El Car - 07-06-2015 I don't really understand what you mean by that. What does a training facility produce? (The answer's not 'trains' by the way in case that's what you thought). We've won 17 trophies since it opened and reached a European final so we've done alright on that front. Not really sure why anyone would think a new training ground would automatically turn young players into superstars. RE: Transfers - Fredstersafool - 07-06-2015 Absolute pish this facility was supposed to help produce players, bored yer way to a European final thank xxxx you lost that too possibly the worst ever team to reach a major European final, barry ferguson only player who started that game to come through the ranks in that squad of players who learnt the trade at other clubs not at Murray park RE: Transfers - El Car - 07-06-2015 Utter bollocks. We built the place because Dick Advocaat believed we needed dedicated, modern facilities for our players to train in instead of the 'muddy public parks' approach common to Scottish clubs, which is a bit of a no-brainier really, and it was one of the conditions of him joining us. It's always been one of the first things shown to signing targets to try to convince them to come despite the paucity of Scottish football. It should help provide a better place for the youths team to train too, but that doesn't and never did mean anyone expected our first team would suddenly be full of brilliant home grown players. Apart from the Daily Record, the Sun and you, maybe. By the way, Alan Hutton and Alan McGregor were key parts of the squad that reached that final even if they missed the latter stages (1 sold, 1 injured) so it's not really relevant that they didn't start the final. And worst team or not, we were still better than everyone we beat on the way there. RE: Transfers - Fredstersafool - 07-06-2015 So there is no place for the youth development at the facility?? All that team will be remembered for is parking the bus, even in the final they never had a go,worse team to EVER grace a European final. RE: Transfers - TheWorthinGer - 07-06-2015 Ah, a European final. You have to pity those who have never - and, let's face it, will never - have that thrill. Those that can't even dream of it. The road to that UEFA final: Beat Panathanaikos on away goals. Beat Werder Bremen 2 - 1 Beat Sporting 2 - 0 (both goals in away leg) Beat Fiorentina 4 - 2 on penalties (thank you, Nacho, a moment I'll never forget) It must be tough living off of the distant memory of a QF appearance. Bitter - not much. RE: Transfers - Fredstersafool - 07-06-2015 I know well never get there no point being there if you lose though eh?? I'm well aware of how Rangers got there trust me it's etched well in my mind of how a boring non team made it,stil it took Smith millions upon millions trying to find a way to get there ultimately killing yer club, hope it was worth the runners up medals RE: Transfers - El Car - 07-06-2015 Apparently it's not that well etched on your mind. The only matches where we 'parked the bus' that season in Europe were the 2 CL games against Barcelona, the semi final matches against Fiorentina and the first half of the game in Lisbon, and by the latter stages of the competition our players were dead on their feet so we didn't have much option. In the other matches we took the game to the opposition as much as we could with technically inferior squads. We were just totally outclassed in the final, but then Zenit were given 2 or 3 weeks off by the Russian FA to prepare for it. What did the Scottish bodies do to help us? It's not actually a crime in football to have as solid a defence as we did. We were basically pilloried for only playing 1 striker in our regular formation that season, yet we were leading scorers in the league for most of it. You're just bitter as xxxx, Fredstersafool. RE: Transfers - Fredstersafool - 07-06-2015 What have I got to bitter about lol, fact is and fact remains the worse ever team to get in a euro final by virtue of playing non football,oh aye and it was the associations fault you lost, like it was there fault you are in the position your club finds it now,and you accuse me of being bitter, you canny makes this up lol RE: Transfers - TheWorthinGer - 07-06-2015 What's the definition of "non-football"? You're a bitter, envious walloper. End of. RE: Transfers - Fredstersafool - 07-06-2015 Like before I have nothing to be bitter about fact. |
