RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - Beefy 1965 - 04-01-2015 You know this guy 1996 And this seems such a waste ![]() baggie96 Youth Baggie *** Quote Blanco is off to greece RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - tidy - 04-01-2015 I'm with wba96 on this. This is silly-season for transfer rumours. We should have all learnt by now not to believe a single story until you see the player with the shirt held up. However, putting 2 and 2 together, I had to wonder why Ideye did not come on against Gateshead. I would have thought that would have been an ideal game for him. Probably more said about the players that did not feature. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - wba_1996 - 04-01-2015 Stoke fans suggesting TP favours British-based players, like AI did. I have no problem with that as long as we get the results and it doesn't get to the point where we are signing British players over better options abroad for the sake of it. Beefy, might be a loan move for Blanco. Can't see him getting a look in under Pulis either way tbh. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - betterthanbaird - 04-01-2015 Just seen Ideye to Sunderland for 6 milli and I don't want any strikers out personally. Shame Blanco seems to be going since he never had a chance but it's fair to assume he's not up to much. I think we can safely assume that if Blanco was good prem standard then he would be playing. I do hope that the club are looking into who was responsible for our impression of 'supermarket sweep' in the summer. We seem to have ended up with quite a few players that don't seem to be good enough. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - HarryJAllstarWBA - 04-01-2015 Personally doubt Blanco was ever good enough RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 04-01-2015 Yep, if a player fails to feature under two different managers than it tends to say more about the player than either gaffer. (Remember the days of Pablo Ibanez? Between them, Di Matteo and Hodgson must have played every half-crocked plodder in our entire senior squad and academy at centre-half rather than letting Pablo loose on the pitch!) RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - Stairs - 04-01-2015 Suppose this is a indication of the problem between coach and manager. Club signs players it wants and tells coach to use them, A manager likes to be part of the decision making. They talked about The Albion on Sky yesterday saying "I know they (West Brom) don't like us talking about it, but not involving the manager in the decision making on players just does not make sense" - They welcomed the change and the appointment of TP. Maybe they'll start complimenting us a bit more in the future? RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - WBA-Josh - 04-01-2015 I think something that hasn't helped Blanco is his size. He is only 5 foot 5 and he said when he signed that he was anxious about playing in the Prem because of his size and the leagues physicality. It's a shame that he hasn't played much for us but at least he can get a move away to resurrect his career. I think he would do well in Spain at a team like Almeria or Levante for example because La Liga would suit him and his play style. Plus he wouldn't have to learn Spanish because he already speaks it. I don't think we will see any movement in and out until after the Hull match. I think Tony will want this week and the weekend to review the players before making decisions on who stays, who goes and what positions need to be strengthened. It will be an interesting month both on and off the pitch. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - Stathemwasthebestever - 04-01-2015 Seems early to be writing Blanco off as he is yet to play for any signficant time. Que sera, sera on that one. Posted on another thread about this but this team has decent individuals. It needs some on-field leadership (and another winger and a striker if SB goes, and maybe a RB if Gamboa is not up to the job (again, I think he should be given a chance, pace is a great attribute)). Josh - know any decent Roy Keane (in my dreams) types who need a home? |
