RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 16-01-2017 (16-01-2017, 17:21)Stairs Wrote: I would welcome Livermore. Younger and works hard in a team that have many issues - he would fit into our squad well and benefit from those around him. Could be another Phillips and turn out to be a clever purchase. Phillips is a good pointer Stairs £5 Million for a average Championship player was bandied around on here when he signed,....... Fair points though BS as when your linked with Carvalho, Schnederlin etc it may seem disappointing. However he probably will cost us £14 Million less so lets hope with the rest of the cash we can improve the rest of the team as a whole Lets not forget where Livermore came from Spurs youth academy Oh did you know he also has a England cap ? 2012 V Italy (16-01-2017, 20:34)BaggieMan Wrote: Never thought Chris Wood was up to the mark in the Prem but he has done well in the Chumpionship. Cant remember but I think we sold him for Leicester for 1.5 Million or something ? We should have sold him and now we are still holding onto him......WHY?? Wouldn't mind being as 'fat' as him - and that's not speculation. BogRollBaggieBob RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 16-01-2017 Tony Pulis has told West Bromwich Albion they need to buy in January and asked his bosses to loosen their "tight and rigid and strict" transfer budget. (Daily Mail) DD ![]() ![]() RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 16-01-2017 I have solved our defensive problems, ![]() This guy has just been released from Newport ............ ABDOULAYE MEITE: Newport County AFC can confirm that Abdoulaye Meite will not be having his contract renewed by the club RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Slick_Footwork - 16-01-2017 Think Livermore would be a decent acquisition. Good athlete, box to box and can play a bit too. Broke into a very decent Spurs team a few years back and was bought by Hull when they were splashing the cash on big names. He's done a good job for them for years and even did a job at centre half this season to cover their paper thin squad. My main concern would be with his previous off the field problems, rather than his ability - hopefully that's all behind him though. On the subject of Pulis buying midfielders, who would've thought Steven N'Zonzi, once a Pulis signing for Stoke would've become the player he is now. Really bossing games for Sevilla these days and one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe. Not saying it's ok to take drugs but with two young girls myself I can fully understand why ![]() =================================================================== Jake Livermore will return to training with Hull City on Thursday after being told he will NOT face a ban despite testing positive for cocaine. Failing an in-competition drugs test for a Class A drug carries a maximum punishment of a two-year suspension. However, the 25-year-old England international turned to the drug as he tried to cope with the death of his new-born son and, in an unprecedented step, an independent Football Association commission has determined that was an overwhelming mitigating factor in their decision not to ban the player. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwib4ObE4cfRAhXBWhoKHUaMAvwQFggaMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-3227621%2FJake-Livermore-NOT-ban-despite-taking-cocaine-FA-hand-Hull-City-midfielder-reprieve.html&usg=AFQjCNEM8QWX60xBmIOyhGgpND7HKssTkQ RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 17-01-2017 West Brom's hopes of signing Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph, 27, appear over with Pep Guardiola keen to hang on to the former Aston Villa midfielder. (Birmingham Mail) West Brom boss Tony Pulis says his transfer budget is "pretty tight and rigid" in the January transfer window. (Birmingham Mail) DD ![]() ![]() RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 17-01-2017 What do people think of Memphis Depay reportedly available, as he is not getting on with the "Chosen One", for around £15mil. I think ManUre paid over £30mil for him. He is also reported as being on 100k a week though :-(. RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Worldclassalbion - 17-01-2017 We are not big enough for Depay and he will more likely go abroad if he leaves Man Ure. I personally think 15m is about right as he's not exactly set the Premier League on fire plus we all know Man Ure pay more than double what the players are worth. £86m for Drogba!!! In today's crazy market that's at least £50m more than he's worth. RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Mosestheballwinner - 17-01-2017 We need two new centre-backs. Gmac is creaking more frequently and Jonas is done. Despite his past I could see Curtis Davies as a replacement for one of them and partner him up with Evans. There aren't many CBs that are any good in our price range. The least we can do is buy one that can run and not make stupid decisions to leave the top English marksman free in the box. I was stunned by Gmac's performance on Saturday. |
