RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - wba13 - 08-09-2020 Some media sources saying we’re in talks to sign Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea. Palace cannot now sign him as they are having Batsyshuai on season long loan .you can only have 1 player on loan from the same club. Villa have agreed a fee os 28 mill + add ons for Watkins. That is bloody ridiculous for an unproven premiership player. No wonder we’re having trouble buying Grant . Villa have upped the prices idiots. RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - Beefy 1965 - 08-09-2020 #WBA are in talks with #CFC for midfielder Conor Gallagher. This might take a bit longer but I still believe Huddersfield will relent as Grant wants to come. If it’s not Grant pretty certain we will bring in one more striker plus Krovinovic on loan. There could also be a surprise signing. If SB brings in another unknown like Krov, Pereira or Grady, I guess we will have to make do. To be honest I would not be to upset if we did try Robinson up front, he looked sharp if not a bit to eager for that match he played up front at the end of the season.
RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - Baggievicar - 08-09-2020 My only worry if we don't get another striker in is that Slav might go back to HRK and Charlie, rather than Robinson. BV, I'm sure that SB has a basic style/tactical idea about how he wants the team to play. I'd imagine, because of Pereira and Diangana (& Krov?) t'would be based on the forward(s) hanging on the shoulder of the last defender and using their speed to get the through ball. (Jeez, am I sounding like Josh??) If this WAS the case, the 'speed' element would surely rule Hull Kingston Rovers and Charlie out of starting as first choice....... a Plan B option, maybe? RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - Blue Baggie - 08-09-2020 £33 million for a championship striker - wow just wow!!! Who would be so stupid as to pay that for an unproven PL striker, who scores most goals from inside the 6 yard box. I do believe Watkins is a good player, but more a £10-12m striker in my head. I keep saying the Sky money IMO has to drop by half (from £100m down to £50m) How long can wealthy owners continue to throw money at a vanity project? Wait for it guys, it's coming. I'm so glad we are playing a sensible game. Dowling policy of buying players with a sell on value has to be the prudant way to go. But isn't that exactly what happened last season? RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - drewks - 08-09-2020 (08-09-2020, 21:27)Baggievicar Wrote:(08-09-2020, 19:24)drewks Wrote:(08-09-2020, 18:30)Baggievicar Wrote: My only worry if we don't get another striker in is that Slav might go back to HRK and Charlie, rather than Robinson. Not sure what you mean there...... HKR and/or CA were 1st choice but IMO weren't suited to that style. Someone like Robinson is. IMO! RE: 2020 Summer Transfer Window - 7th September - wba1978 - 09-09-2020 This Andre Gray on loan link is not exciting me at all.... If we are going down that route instead of getting Grant in, I would much rather we looked at someone like Teemu Pukki, if he was possibly available of course...? His movement around the box is really intelligent, and personally I think he would really suit our style of play. Obviously Norwich probably don't want to loan him out if they have ambitions of coming straight back up, but he's 30 yo now, and might see it as a great opportunity to play in the prem again? Just a thought... and probably an unrealistic one? But this Gray link doesn't fill me with much confidence right now. If we do go for Gray, I hope I'm wrong of course... Still pinning my hopes on getting Grant though...
