RE: The Owls v Cardiff SBC Match Thread - Washington - 22-01-2018 Fred wants to turn his loan into a transfer according to The Satr. If he keeps playing and improving like he has that could be good. Him Lees and Van Acken in a back 3 with Thorniley and Nielsen lurking in the wings could be great. I'm all for moving to a younger and faster team rather than over 30's on long term contracts RE: The Owls v Cardiff SBC Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 22-01-2018 BML Update: Stateside gets a ![]() BML Updated. Good enough though RE: The Owls v Cardiff SBC Match Thread - Towinjustonce - 23-01-2018 Really enjoyed the game on Saturday all be it without a win. Had a few beers before and even went to the Tap. Atmosphere was good too. My thoughts on game Wildsmith - 6/7 - had little to do but what he did do he did well. Kicking can be improved on. Venancio -7 - coped well with the Cardiff attack. Don't know if I'd sign him up permanently just yet, give him another month in the team first. Pudil - 7- played well and moved the ball around well. Thorniley - 7 - Good to see a young lad in and he coped well. Having an extra body in defense certainly gives them all a bit more confidence. Palmer - 5- tries but doesn’t offer enough. Fox -5 - same as Palmer Jones- 6/7 - annoyed me with his slow passing. I want him to do more. Made mistakes but then wins the ball back. Did reasonably well though. Wallace - 6- didn’t really get into the game. Reach -7/8- my man of the match. Watching the game I felt everything positive went through him. He did tire thou as every time we were looking to attack we were looking for him. Rhodes- 6- he did well enough but overall I don’t see what he adds. Kept getting brushed off the ball. Did create 2 chances, but we bought him as a finisher and the 2 chances he had he didn’t finish. The header was difficult but the one on one was poor. Joao - 7/8- like Reach everything positive went through him. Troubled there defense whenever he got the ball. Should of finished his 2 chances and hopefully once he gets one the ball will start rolling in for him. Subs Matias-6- brought much needed urgency and pace when he came on. Nuihiu / Boyd - did ok. Boyd did annoy me also one attack near the corner flag he lost the ball and just threw his arms up in the air like as if looking to blame someone else/ or saying xxxx it someone else can win it back. Jos has work to do. Overall we were solid defensively. it is hard to see where the goals will come from even if we are creating chances though. Cardiff were pretty poor it has to said. If we going to play 352 going forward then we need two new wing backs and a striker. If doing this I think Jos will keep Reach as a 3 in midfield. We need his pace and energy there to get up and down the field to support the strikers, he can beat a man in the middle rather than having to pass it sideways which gets us attacking quicker also. |
