RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (15 May) - Baggievicar - 17-05-2017 (17-05-2017, 08:28)BaggieSteve Wrote: You're probably right. Loftus-Cheek has been touted as a future England and Chelsea star but seems to have disappeared off the radar and doesn't seem to have played much this season. Mind you, with the exception of Sam Field in the last few games (although he was back on the bench last night), our record under Pulis of playing our academy players is pretty poor. Yes, I know this is a bit off-topic but I was thinking this morning, a few games back TP was saying he was planning to play the youngsters in the closing games. Where's that gone? RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (16 May) - Worldclassalbion - 17-05-2017 We need a creative attacking midfielder. Chadli hasn't been the same since his injury albeit he is wasted out wide. We need another koumas, Texiera, Maresca type to drive us forward but as someone said on another thread, if Pulis had Messi he would use him as a CDM. ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (16 May) - SpenB - 17-05-2017 Making a second bid apparently: Benfica's Jardel Who is Jardel? 31-year-old centre-half who joined Benfica six years ago. Since, he's made 175 appearances across all competitions but has found first-team football hard to come by this season, featuring only twice in the league. He is third choice behind behind Luisao and Victor Lindelof in the middle of defence. Jardel has, however, suffered from muscle injuries and a sprained ankle this term, which has made him unavailable for selection for large chunks of that period. Baggievicar, I think it's a strong reflection of Pulis' overall attitude to risk. I suspect he sees playing these young academy players as too risky as they are not the battle hardened premier league pros he thinks will provide him with a better return. The fact that these established players are currently performing dismally doesn't seem to matter to him. At this stage, I cannot understand how playing younger players could be seen as a risk; I mean, we've lost nine out of the last twelve matches. I'm afraid this is his mindset and nothing will change it. Expect the same next season RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (15 May) - Salopbaggie - 18-05-2017 (16-05-2017, 05:20)St Charles Owl Wrote:(15-05-2017, 11:55)Stairs Wrote: Charlie Taylor deal could be off, despite having talks with player and agent about personal terms, unless Leeds agree a fee for him. Albion are not prepared to let it run and go to tribunal where the final costs would be an unknown This feels a bit familiar, remember Lakaku, Chelsea offered him to us for £18mil and we huffed and puffed, thinking we would get a better deal, pushed Chelsea into offering him out wider and the rest is history. Are we ever going to learn the lesson, time for the only religious quote, I ever use (other than the 23rd psalm of course ![]() ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (16 May) - 4evaabaggie - 18-05-2017 Says it all, Terry not to keen on Bournemouth move due to their fast flowing football ...... he's ours then. But no, Gotta fill up the bank balance with a huge signing on fee. This means he does not care who he plays for so long as they pay - mercenary! All of a sudden I have gone off him. Also note Sjoke are said to be change a new striker in the form of ex West Brom player Chris Woods. Maybe Sado Biryani is off to Cardiff following in the tracks of Odem Whingey. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (19 May) - silverbaggie - 19-05-2017 In view of the apparent present interest from various Premier league Clubs for Chris Wood, even at £20M; did we let him go too soon? I thought he was The Future when he debuted at 17. We let him go on Loan for a couple of teams, but I doubt if we'd do the same today - he's twice the handful Rondon is, and scores loads of goals (not in the Prem - I know - but I think Rondon's only about Championship tbh.) |
