Think some people have got Southgate wrong. A few years ago, he was a boring yes man but what he has done over the last couple of years is say it & do it his own way & some of this hasn't been popular at the FA but his results have been good so he has progressed well.
I agree with his views on age group football and the importance of playing tournament football over playing International football. It is little coincidence how players like Dier, Alli, Lingard, Rashford & others have progressed under Southgate and slotted straight into the England side. Let's hope his bold move to drop Rooney brings him success.

Another quite poor England performance, we should be really scoring a minimum of 5 against Malta.
Credit to the Malta Keeper who made 2 or 3 decent saves to keep the score down and the Malta team as a whole for keeping a well drilled defensive shape for the 77minutes I bothered to stay for.
Trips to watch England at Wembley get harder and harder to justify, high ticket prices, shite atmosphere, surrounded by tourists and cockneys who have just discovered what beer is but can't handle it and poor games

Thank goodness for Hart tonight or that would have been a defeat. Quite a few mistakes tonight and somewhat disjointed performance overall.
