RE: Crystal Palace vs WBA - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 03-10-2015 Tried to park West Bromwich bus station, got what we deserved. Nothing else to be said. Awful. (Reading the thread post-game has actually been more enjoyable than the match. Excellent work, all. Ominously, it's all starting to feel like the classic Gould-era gallows humour...) RE: Crystal Palace vs WBA - Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 03-10-2015 In an attempt to save some cats from the punching this is what I use now. http://awfulgames.com/games/catapult/ RE: Crystal Palace vs WBA - Match Thread - WBA Will - 03-10-2015 Well, at least there's the rugby later, eh guys? Bound to cheer us up. Hey, if England lose tonight Lancaster will be sacked and hopefully the RFU will prise Pulis off us. RE: Crystal Palace vs WBA - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 03-10-2015 I'm not having this Rondon is crap stuff my heart bleeds for the guy........... So negative from Pulis what is he suppose to do ? I wonder how many times the bloke has touched the ball this season Is it any wonder he does nothing with it when it gets hoofed up to him from 60 Yards with no support from anyone ? I'm beginning to despair , How do we expect to win games when we don't try to score? I hate to admit Stevo was right ever but if you're reading this Stevo ............... You were bloody Spot on ![]() RE: Crystal Palace vs WBA - Match Thread - aries22 - 03-10-2015 (03-10-2015, 15:50)DanTheSmethwickMan Wrote: It is right though that if this was Irvine he would be gone by now. Let's face it Pulis has spent 30 mill and signed who he wanted and had a whole pre season with the squad. Irvine had players bought for him and never signed anyone himself and hardly had a full pre season. Didn't like him but if it was the other way round he would be out. Shouldn't be any different for Pulis. Things need to change because this is shocking, this ain't the Albion we know Very difficult to disagree with that. But that is part of the problem....works the wing, gets up and down, seems to have a great attitude BUT compare his actual attacking impact to his opposite number. How often does it look like he's done his man only to turn back inside. When I first saw him I thought WTF, but he's really grown on me. But if he is one of the teams better players on a regular basis - we're in trouble!(03-10-2015, 15:38)Anderson on the wing Wrote: Albion summed up by Mclean who has actually been one of our better players the last few games.....tries hard, tracks back, works works works but sooooooooo limited in actual ability. We have players who can play and can pass - i have seen them do it - We have a reasonable bunch of players who must be as sick of playing this shite as we are of watching it. Every one of the last 4 managers has tried to fit players into a system that requires at least 3 or 4 playing in unfamiliar positions - why is it not deemed possible to pick the best players we have in their best position and design a playing system that makes the best we can out of what we have. Then if they are not good enough get rid and replace with somebody else. THEY JUST HAVE TO DO A JOB THAT THEY ARE BEST SUITED FOR it's called round pegs in round holes. We have one of the most talented young english strikers and either play him without support or out wide and expected to cover for his full back. We have a good central striker in Rondon who spends all the game getting battered by two hulking CB's or chasing no hope long balls to no one, as well as getting back to clear from his own area. We have two wide players who can take defenders on and get into the opponent's area, and we have a couple of midfield players who can pick a pass occasionally as JM to SB for his goal against Everton. The issue is that none of them are ever allowed to play their natural game because of the defensive scared of conceding mindset. OK being able to defend is a key requirement but surely not at the expense of stifling any entertaining attacking possibilities. Sometimes taking the game to the opposition is indeed the best way to prevent them scoring. What on earth has happened to the make them scared of us attitude we used to have? Exactly my thoughts on it as well mate. I've been very reserved and patient regarding Pulis since the start of the season, but if we turn out another performance like that I'll be the one leading the torch and pitchfork mob. |
