RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Borders Baggie - 11-02-2015 Big win. What a difference from Sunday. Every player seemed to have confidence on the ball. Played well defensively, restricting Swansea to a handfull of half chances. Front pairing linking up well and great to see them both on the scoresheet. Berahino looked like he was enjoying playing alongside Ideye, which augurs well for the rest of the season. Good all round performance. Happy days!! RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - derbybaggie - 11-02-2015 Happy here in Derby, made even better seeing the Vile in the poo! Just need to keep it going. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - drewks - 12-02-2015 Yeh - Swansea looked good but all their pretty tippy tappy stuff didn't produce many chances at all. Great performance from us all through the team; for all the crap that he delivered when in promising areas I even thought Brunty had a good 2nd half defensively. Wrong to single anyone out really but very impressed with Yacob, Mozza, Sess when he came on, Saido & our new goalscoring sensation! ![]() ![]() Thoroughly workmanlike performance and a deserved win! The table looks a whole lot better ATM!! ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 12-02-2015 I was only able to watch the first 30 minutes and the final 5 so I don't have much to say regarding the performance but I will say that the win is a very welcome 3 points and having seen the goals and highlights, I like the look of Ideye and Berahino's partnership. Bring on the cockney bubble blowers. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 12-02-2015 Wow. Just wow. To put this win into perspective, the last time we beat a higher-placed team by more than a single goal was exactly two years ago at Anfield. That's a damning indictment of how bad we've been for the 730 days since, but also - we can dare to hope - the first glimpse of a corner being turned. It wasn't all one-way traffic, but yes, easily the best we've been under Pulis so far, and at no point did Swansea really knock on the door or cause us serious problems. And then you've got the continuing redemption of Brown Ideye, skinning Swans players like they were under-15s, harrying their defence all the time and taking his goal with real composure. Saido's goal was another beauty, and I really, really hope that's the beginning of a fine partnership between the two (what was that about them being too similar to play together, Mr Irvine?!) Tony and the players deserve all the plaudits they get tonight. Long way still to go, but this was a big step in the right direction. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - silverbaggie - 12-02-2015 I breathe a sigh of relief but, for all the plaudits you guys have given how did we win that with only 35% possession? RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 12-02-2015 Silver Swansea's 65% was just tippy tappy and mainly played in there own half, Didnt do anything with it really, With proper Full backs we would look the real deal. However we still looked tight at the back, Aswell as their goals Saido & Brown linked up well, Browns first touch is becoming so much better. Well played Bobby ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - meandbrenarebaggies - 12-02-2015 Could not be better. We are now scalp-takers. Rubber-Hammers are the team above Swansea tonight. No reason we cannot take our new found confidence into that game and pin another three points to our tally. Come on You Baggies. RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 12-02-2015 West Ham keeper Adrian sent off tonight ............ Straight Red ................. Our names on the cup i tell ya ![]() RE: WBA vs Swansea - Match Thread - WillieJohnstonsGreenhouse - 12-02-2015 (12-02-2015, 00:13)Ska Wrote: Wow. Just wow. After time to calm down - I think Swansea did knock at the door but every time they tried our boys snuffed it out. Not seen us fight like that for years. They attacked but with little threat -due to our fighting spirit. Dunno if we could do that against the so called better teams BUT a huge step in the right direction and a deserved win from a game I would have hoped to win but expected a draw. Awesome stuff - bring it on ![]() |
