RE: 2022 (16th August): Summer Transfer Window - Blue Baggie - 19-08-2022 Gossip saying Grant could be available. Can't see the point we still owe Huddersfield £12 million. I think we're just clutching at straws trying to raise a few quid. Willing to sell anyone with any resale value... I'd be chuffed if we could sell him for decent cash as I think you'll never get a good "footballing" side with someone like Grant. Can't trap a ball. Can't pass. Couldn't beat an egg, nevermind a defender. But for those reasons, I think we would struggle to get £4-£5m for him. The reality is, we massively overpaid for a player that has a good shot and turn of pace, but nothing else... But for all his flaws, he is one of the few who can put the ball in the net. Knowing us we would sell him and buy a pig in a poke that would make us even more impotent. RE: 2022 (16th August): Summer Transfer Window - 4evaabaggie - 20-08-2022 Our squad value ..... Two books of green shield stamps. Nothing to sale, no-one wants to buy our dross, they just raid our academy and dump their has been / never will be's on us. Started the season with such hope but ...... Already we are a replica of last season. Most possession, most shots on goal, lowest goals for tally. Cardiff not a single shot on target, we had five but shared the points. Promotion may be out of sight before we know it. We have been desperate for a goalscorer for years .... We can see it, we know it, why doesn't the powers that be know it. Are they to busy diverting loans. If Lai wants a loan, he should go to the WBBS (West Brom building society) not WBAFC Hope facing fast. Albion til I die RE: 2022 (16th August): Summer Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 21-08-2022 (20-08-2022, 11:39)4evaabaggie Wrote: Our squad value ..... Two books of green shield stamps. WBBS are much more careful who they lend money to, and have better interest rates. Not to mention they chase up bad debts. DD ![]() ![]() RE: 2022 (22nd August): Summer Transfer Window - Stairs - 22-08-2022 So with days to go will it be one from 4 or none at all! Joao (Reading), McBurnie (Sheff Utd), Grabban (Forest) and Archer (Villa) I am praying fro Archer then Jaoa followed by, as is more likely, Grabban and I fear we will end up with McBurnie RE: 2022 (22nd August): Summer Transfer Window - BaggieSteve - 22-08-2022 As Stairs says, Archer would be my first choice. Newcastle seem to be interested in Joao so I think we can be pretty sure he’ll have more attractive offers than the Albion. As for McBurnie, the guy couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo, he’s dreadful and hasn’t scored since December 2020; I’ve seen him when he’s played for Scotland and he’s been awful - so we’ll probably sign him as it’s just what we need, a non-scoring forward (Zohore Mark II). I’d also be ok with Grabban who has a very good record at this level. At 34, he’s not “one for the future” but we need a goal scorer now. While not even remotely putting him in the same breath as Kevin Phillips, Superkev joined us at a similar age as I recall and being surplus to requirements at Villa……and the rest is history. If we got 50% of his contribution out of Grabban, it would be a decent return, I reckon. RE: 2022 (22nd August): Summer Transfer Window - Slick_Footwork - 22-08-2022 I'd take Grabban if he's the player he was a few years ago. My worry with him is that it would take him ages to get fit, given his age and the fact he's been without a club all summer. We really could do with someone who can hit the ground running, but beggars can't be choosers really... Jordan Hugill available? ![]() To be fair, as bad as he was, he'd probably get a few goals with Wallace crossing balls in. Joao would be good, but comes with a cost, so very unlikely. McBurnie is awful, please no. Archer, would be my choice, but villa just take our players and never give anything back. Grabban is the most likely for me, but I have never been convinced by him, was ok 2 seasons ago, but I think was bang average last year. I honestly am hoping that there is an option 5. Whoever it is, I am hoping that dike heals quickly and is back soon and has no relapses. RE: 2022 (22nd August): Summer Transfer Window - Mosestheballwinner - 24-08-2022 If you put opportunities in Grabbon’s way he’ll put them away at this level and below. I’ve been championing his cause for weeks off-line. You can be super fit, fly upside down, hold your breath for 10 minutes but if you can’t score you ain’t no use to us. If the ball goes in off you’re arse from inside your own box and you look like you give a shit. You’ll do for me. That’s what Grabbon brings.
