Dawson is decent enough, and Between him, Mcauley and Olsson we should be fine. And there's the Jan window. ![]() RE: Breaking & Rolling News - Beefy 1965 - 27-11-2014 (27-11-2014, 00:55)BBB Wrote:(26-11-2014, 13:52)Luke_East_Baggie Wrote: At leastwere in good stead in CB position now. Where does he play ? ![]() RE: Breaking & Rolling News - BaggieMan - 27-11-2014 Very sad to learn this morning that Aussie Test cricketer Phillip Hughes has died following being struck on the head by a bouncer. Sympathies and condolence to Phil's family and friends. Sympathies and condolence to Phil's family and friends. Really sad news. Puts all other sports 'news' into some sort of perspective. No mention anywhere of the bowler who delivered the ball - poor bloke - how must he be feeling? RE: Breaking & Rolling News - Dingle-Dingle - 27-11-2014 Haven`t heard any details just that he was hit in the head. Was he wearing a helmet. ?? Sad indeed. Really tragic, and as Drewks said, it must be hell for the bowler who delivered the ball too. Condolences to Phil's family and friends. RE: Breaking & Rolling News - WBA-Josh - 27-11-2014 He was hit on the neck by a 90mph bouncer. The speed of the ball hitting his neck caused an artery to split which led to bleeding into the brain. Bouncers are very dangerous in cricket but it is something that can sometimes happen without any intention. The neck is a very important part of the body so a new protective piece of protective equipment needs to be made so this doesn't happen again. It is a sad day for cricket. RE: Breaking & Rolling News - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 27-11-2014 Just found out that the bowler was Sean Abbott; apparently he was a close friend of Hughes, and they were roommates on Australia's T20 tours. Really, really hope the bloke's okay, because that must be sickening (obviously causing a stranger's death by accident would be awful in itself, but if it's someone you know and are mates with, I can only imagine the further horror and grief). It's tragic enough to have lost one man without it potentially destroying the life of another. RE: Breaking & Rolling News - Luke_East_Baggie - 27-11-2014 Yep, and it's part of Abbott's game - he often delivers ones that pitches up higher - he's been doing it for years and both players knew each others game well. Imagine the odds of him throwing that ball, at that speed, with that spin, landing on that piece of grass and pitching up in that exact angle, and the bowler positioning himself in that exact way that it misses the protective piece of equipment covering 95% of his body from his shoulders upwards. Condolences out to all envolved - bit of a tradgedy within the sport. Why not wear a helmet similar to Petta Checks, might do bit of good.May be one thats a bit thinner on top and thicker behind the ear. This is where he was hit causing a artery to burst.WCCC showing great sympathy as he played for them in 2012 RIP and condolences to his family and the bowler needs some support now.Get rid of the bouncer? maybe. |
