Adios Argentina and I have no sympathy for you. Trying to find a formation to get the best out of only one player is a disaster waiting to happen. It’s a team game and it’s about putting together a system that gets the best out of all the players. There’s also no leadership on and off the pitch and Messi should be nowhere near the captains armband. Being the joint best player in the world is not a requirement to be captain, a captain should be a leader and should inspire the best out of their teammates and Messi does neither for Argentina in my opinion.

Iceland better beat Nigeria tomorrow to all but knock Argentina out.

As for Croatia, superb performance yet again and they are really one of the dark horses. Also bravo Modric, what a bloody good goal.

Brazil vs Costa Rica, Nigeria vs Iceland and finally Serbia vs Switzerland, which is what I’m really looking forward to watching, tomorrow.

Don't cry for me......

I love Messi, and think he's far better than his Nemesis. But I bet Ronaldo was beaming last night, and posing for dozens of selfies - the bigheaded twat.
As Josh says, Messi's the last person to give the armband to, and I wonder if there's been a big fall-out on the training ground.

Ole Brazil. Not classic Brazil but they got there in the end. This should kick start their tournament.

I don’t like Neymar and I think he is overrated but something has to be done about the treatment he is receiving. Him constantly being kicked and fouled is not a good sight for the tournament.

Iceland up in an hour against Nigeria.
Nigeria beat Iceland to open the group up. Croatia vs Iceland and Nigeria vs Argentina on the final match day. Should be an exciting couple of hours next week.
Good first half. I’ve been impressed with Serbia yet again. They’re a big, strong team but can also play attractive football through Tadic and Kostic.

Switzerland are quite poor. They are very slow and ponderous in possession and don’t seem to have a clue on how to get through the two Serbian brick walls.

Swiss player just had to change shirt because of a few drops of blood......

I know times have changed but made me think of this.

different second half Josh

RE: World Cup 2018 - WBA-Josh - 22-06-2018

Entertaining match between Serbia and Switzerland. Switzerland were much better in the second half and were able to play through the pitch much quicker. This played into the hands of Shaqiri who ran the second half. Serbia should have had a definite penalty after Mitrovic was rugby tackled to the ground by Lichtsteiner and Schär. Just like the Harry Kane incidents, VAR was a let down in the situation.

Overall I think a draw would have been fair but the results today mean that the group is open going into the last matchday. Brazil vs Serbia and Switzerland vs Costa Rica. I expect Brazil and Switzerland to both win and go through.

RE: World Cup 2018 - talkSAFT - 23-06-2018

Don't think Arsenal fans will be over-impressed by Lichsteiner. Bring back Arsene!
Shaqiri was virtually unplayable, and this is the same bloke who kept record signing Berahino out of the Clayheads team.
