RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - Stairs - 27-11-2017

I am happy with Alan Pardew.

He might not be an exciting new manager with a reputation to build. But he knows how to get a team playing proper football and can motivate a squad, for a season or two at least.

To be fair I could have seen a positive in almost any appointment that replaced Tony Pulis, and that is a shame because he did a great job for us, up until the start of this season!

Give it Meggo till end of season!

Nah...fair play to Pards, he's saying all the right things. I'd be happy with him taking over today.

The Birmingham Mail’s sister paper The Mirror claims Pardew is expected to be confirmed as Tony Pulis’ successor on Wednesday.
Reporter James Nursey says an appointment is now close with Pardew set to get the final nod from club’s Chinese owner Guochuan Lai.
Pardew is a former team-mate of West Brom technical director Nick Hammond, who is a key member of the Albion football panel interviewing candidates.

RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - drewks - 28-11-2017

I read somewhere today that the club wants a BRITISH HC, and also that AP wants a 3 year deal.
The first one seems reasonable with the position we're in at the moment, but IMHO that would need to be looked at again if we're safe at the end of the season ......which obviously doesn't suit the 2nd requirement.
Could this be a stumbling block to the appointment of AP?

I still think he's a good fit for us and he'll be in post in a couple of days
