Piggies lost and they'll be in bother with a few bottles thrown on the pitch Cool

RE: Cardiff v The Owls SBC Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 16-09-2017

Disappointing end to a game where we put in a good first half performance and battled well against a typical Colin team in the second half!!! Got to take the positives from that, we played some good stuff, scored a good goal and seemed to have done enough to hold on. Stretches the unbeaten run to 7 games and I suppose we would have likely taken the draw before the game, just such a pisser to give up that goal at the end!!!

IMRES NO BULLSHIT RATINGS COMING TO YOU FROM A YET AGAIN Whistle PISSED OFF IMRE Angry

WESTWOOD ...5This would have been an 8 ratings but he completley flapped that last minute free kick and with it is yet still to keep a clean sheet Doh has the summer speculation gone to his head or what becuase this has to be his worst run ever for Wednesday and he needs to get a grip starting next sunday would be nice Whistle

HUNT...6 Was left to work on his own in defence too much and this made life hard for him trying to attack although he did do a good job again Thumb up

LEES...7His best game so far this season his passing was better today and he controlled the back line well Thumb up

JOOST...8looks like hes been playing forever in the championship nothing troubles him in defence and his passing is out of this world agian today he was spraying balls allover the place to 100% of them went to a wednesday player Thumb up

PUDIL...6Played quite well and surprised me although every now and then he does something daft and gives an easy free kick away i didnt see who gave the freekick away for there goal it better not had been him or his rating drops to a clowns 0 Angry

JONES...7Had a much better game today and tied up well in the middle with the rest Thumb up

BANNAN..7Apart from his shite set peices he is back to his best in everyway he controlled the game very well today Thumb up

LEE...7He got up and down with ease again although some of his last balls infront of goal today were not so good He looks tired from his first 2 games and will need an icebath or 2 before next sundays game it is vital he comes out 100% fit Thumb up

REACH...8Great cross for Hoopers goal Thumb up mr consistent this season with hunt bannan and hooper Thumb up

HOOPER...8 Scored again and worked his socks of untill he could no more he played in midfield more than he did upfront today and linked defence and attack up perfectly Thumb up

FLETCHER...8MOMThis fellow played right back center back middle of the park winger and center forward and he kept going past the 60 minute mark which is usualy when he tires he played like he was on drugs today Thumb up and possibly was because that was some fitness shown at his age Whistle

WALLACE ...4He was the right choice of substitute by CC as he would come on and push Cardiff on the back foot and help hunt out defending Whistle yep right Doh he did none of the 2 and was quite lazy for a sub he sat and picked his arse leaving Hunt more exposed than he had been previously Thumb down

BUTTERFIELD NUHUI...no rating Butterfield Showed a little more than in previous games but the game was all about shutting up shop by this time Nuhui won a few balls and did his job !

CC...8The perfect away performance and possibly our best bar the result Angry

I said at the start of this thread that 4 pts from these next 2 games and it would be better to get the 3pts against the Pigs Thumb up lets hope it comes of because anything less and we will be hanging around the middle of the table again Angry we could have been dreaming of top spot next sunday and a new challenge of staying there ! but we are now back to where we were before just hanging round the top 6 Doh

There are going to be some sleepless nights Sad form here to next sunday morning at 5 feffing 30 Angry but we are in a better position than we were before the international break and if we can produce something inbetween todays game and the Forest game and hope for xxxx that westwood turns up and keeps a clean sheet then we might just be bouncing around the room next sunday Thumb up

Agree with those ratings. Not sure who gave away the free kick but from memory it was one of those challenges a defender has to make and get spot on or else the ref will give it.

Some interesting score today. Noblot are the whipping boys of the division it would seem, 'Arry could be in trouble at Brum, Preston have started well and look good, Brizzle and Derby are jackal and Hyde, Fulham are not the same team as last season yet, Hull, Sunderland and Reading might just struggle all season, Wolves look ok, Boro are inconsistent and we are doing ok. Its still tight at the top, we are 2 points off the playoffs and 4 points off the top but the top 10 are all within reach of the playoffs as well. Are there any stand out teams yet this season, doesn't appear so, and therefore we need to keep this run going and maybe, just maybe we can become the standout team!!

Redknapp has been sacked by Birmingham.

Not sure that's good for us. Now their players will get their finger out to impress the new/potential manager just as we get to play them.

Dingles 3-0 down.

RE: Cardiff v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Maddix - 16-09-2017

Just watched the highlights and they had 3 offside players including the scorer as the ball was played across. Yes we had a defender on the line but all 3 were in front of Westwood so it should have been flagged. It's something officials miss 99% of the time. They see a defender between the attackers and the goal and automatically assume the goalie is also there. The offside law is quite clear.

http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside

and according to that the player who crossed it should have been flagged offside anyway as he was stood in an offside position when the free kick was taken.

A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.
A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).
