Lots of possession, easy win but no real tempo or penetration. Too many crosses with not enough support in the box. In short a very safe performance but that's probably what Southgate was looking for in his first game.

There is something wrong with Pearson, he has lost both his last two jobs by incidents to do with temper or simple stubbornness, both which he was in no real danger of being fired until he went off on one!! At the moment he is a no bullshit loser!!

I'm with Charlie on this one. Pearson sounds good. I can't help but feel he'd xxxx us up as bad as Turnip head though. There's a niche for managers like that and when the shoe fits magic happens. I don't think it's Intrnational level

I watched from the 48th to the 56th minute then started cooking tea instead. Popped back in now and then until the 65th minute then told our young'un he could watch Star Wars on Netflix if he wanted
