We should have had the match sewn upon well before Cambridge got back in the match. I think it is more that these players don't have the winning mentality that our first choices have. Much of the play was good but we lacked that ability to win the game with key decisions, most noticeably here when Nuhiu missed from three yards. Wildsmith - 7 Vermijl - 6 Semedo - 7 O'Grady - 7 Helan - 6 Buckley - 8 Palmer - 8 Wallace - 8 Sougou - 5 Nuhiu - 6 Joao - 7 ................................... Hooper - 6 Murphy - 6 Hirst - 5 Buckley looked a class above the opposition, as did Palmer & Wallace. However, we couldn't convert their approach play into goals with just three attempts on target from 19. Joao scored one eventually but Nuhiu looked like he will never score although he did a decent job defensively after we had let Cambridge into the game. O'Grady had a promising debut & could prove to be a useful addition to the squad. Sougou looked poor again & I cannot see him being involved much again. The real action returns on Saturday when very few of these players will be involved. |
