He cheated his fellow professional, he cheated the officials, he shamed his own manager and club - edit - and fans, he cheated the very sport that he makes a living from.
Do you think he doesn't need to apologise?

No, he doesn't have to apologise. He should apologise though. If he can't see that himself, then his club or manager should have 'explained it to him'.
As it is, they've all come out of it looking like they condone his actions.
Thing is, it's therefore very easy to suspect that they do.
