Well obviously not or there wouldn't have been a pitch invasion.

RE: Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - WakeyTerrier - 05-05-2015

Of course they did, otherwise the game wouldn't have gone ahead.

What are Blackpool supposed to do?

They had Stewards and Police there, by all accounts the Police had dogs and horses outside but were instructed not to be used as it was a peaceful protest.

Blackpool FC are not to be blamed for the lack of action from the Police and do you really expect stewards to put their neck on the line for minimum pay

RE: Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - SHEP_HTAFC - 05-05-2015

You can't blame Blackpool for the protest....but ultimately they will pay the price for it.
I believe Blackpool are going to view all CCTV footage and identify as many of the supporters as possible.
What they did is illegal and could result in them being banned for life. Good riddance to them if that's how they choose to behave at a football match.
As much as I agree with their cause, you can't go around getting matches abandoned. The longer they stayed on the pitch the less sympathy I had with any of them.
And it wasn't a peaceful protest from what I saw. Goading Town fans and then trying to get into the Director's box should have given the police enough incentive to set the dogs and horses on them.

The whole thing is a joke, and the Blackpool fans have made a mockery of themselves. From what I've seen on Twitter they seem more bothered about being seen as 'proper fans' than they actually do the cause at hand. All they've succeeded in doing is earning their club a fine and possible points deduction as well as encouraging Oyston to dig his heels in even more. Oyston's been there a while, and they've known his intentions all along, yet they weren't protesting when they lucked their way into the greedy league were they? Suddenly it his the fan and they're the best fans in the world who are standing up for 'proper fans' the world over - what a load of nonsense. We as fans found ourselves in a much worse position not too long ago and handled ourselves a million times better.

RE: Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - WakeyTerrier - 05-05-2015

Blackpool reaching the Premier League was the best thing to happen to the club but since that day they've been on a downward spiral not helped by the chairman allegedly taking a £11m bonus that season and apparently loaning £26m to his companies since.

RE: Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - Lord Snooty - 05-05-2015

There are loads more chairmen as bad, if not worse than Oyston. I have no sympathy at all with the Blackpool fans and hope that each and every one of them that invaded the pitch are identified and arrested.
Proper fans my arse.

RE: Blackpool v Huddersfield Town - ARTERRIER - 05-05-2015

Lets just clear up about Blackpool's Premier League season, this was not funded by the Oyston family but the Latvian, Valery Belokon, so that argument goes out if the window about the complaining when they were there. Also the fans have to constantly put up with antagonism from Oyston, taking libel actions against fans, allegedly diverting 37 million away from the club into other business.

Two questions here, would you all be complaining vehemently if it was Rotherham or Fulham that this had happened too? Or that we were about to secure a place above Bolton, would you eckers like. Sorry, but Town were collateral damage on Saturday, just a quirk of the fixture list.

As for Town being is this situation a few years ago, do you not think if things had become protracted that more and more extreme action would have been taken by fans?

Whilst I agree, we cannot have fans actions deciding results think the bigger picture needs to be seen here. As fir the pitch invaders, I'm willing to bet that actually nothing happens to them in terms of bans and criminal charges.

Well obviously not, ART. But this is social media outrage and I am OUTRAGED! Big Grin
