RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 1) Here we go - Will Pulis make changes? - betterthanbaird - 02-01-2015 Is he still mobile? Wouldn't be great alone up front, I'd have him in addition to the current 3 but not replacing anyone, also wages issue. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 1) Here we go - Will Pulis make changes? - Foxman_WBA - 02-01-2015 Striker wise if Berahino goes i cant look past Danny Ings, Contract up at the end of the season so would be available for less than 5 mil. I'd say a better option than Ideye up front. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 1) Here we go - Will Pulis make changes? - betterthanbaird - 02-01-2015 Ings would be great but the amount of competition for him makes it unlikely. I've seen a lot of Albion fans suggesting Defoe, Crouch or Lambert as replacements, look at what Swansea and Southampton do when they sell one of their star players - they sign a Wilfried Bony or a Dusan Tadic who are quality players and when they inevitably sell these players they will be getting another £20m+. Defoe or Lambert would be good for a season or so and would guarantee goals, but if we want to get back to being a comfortable midtable side we have to look at the bigger picture and make signings for the future who have resale value and can help us grow as a club. Am I the only one who thinks Berahino won't leave this window out of interest? Bad news: one prime candidate to fill the experienced striker role is gone, Bent on loan to Derby. Not sure about Lambert 96. Last time out when he came on as a sub for England, he didn't look fit or particularly quick. RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 2) Dundee Striker....? - betterthanbaird - 02-01-2015 Lambert does seem to have gone downhill since joining Liverpool. All the more reason to go down the young and promising route. |
