It is said on the BBC Sports Website that unfortunately Leko was racially abused by the Leeds goalkeeper. The authorities are investigating. If found guilty the player will be suspended for a minimum of 6 games.
My view is that this is not sufficient. How about a 12 match ban, loss of wages whilst banned ( with the money going to good local causes) & back to school for every day of the ban to be taught that there is no place for racism in any walk of life, especially for the few people of society who are held up to be role models. Your thoughts please.

At this moment it's still an allegation, and sadly unless there were TV cameras on the incident (unlikely), goalpost mics to pick up the abuse (even more unlikely), or witnesses to testify one way or the other (racists generally don't say this kind of stuff where they can be overheard), it'll probably end the way the Rodriguez-Bong incident did; with a muddled compromise. I do support strong penalties for those conclusively found guilty, but until whole pitches are miked up, I'm not sure the evidence will be there to convict or clear with 100% certainty.

Hi Baggieman, I reside in Old Colwyn along the North Wales Coast (near Colwyn Bay & Llandudno). Originally from the Handsworth Hood-just round the corner from the Shrine.

Kiko Casilla has now been found guilty of racially abusing Leko back in October and handed an eight-game suspension, effective immediately. He still claims there was no racist intent behind whatever words he used, and Leeds are backing him on the basis that the verdict was made on the balance of probability rather than proof beyond reasonable doubt. The full findings of the panel won't be published until next week, which is presumably when we'll get to see exactly what he said.

The World, including Football, has gone barking mad.
There is no difference between calling someone a black b*d and an Irish b*d (or whatever words were used). I've never heard of a Paddy crying or 'being offended'.
In my playing days (Parks football) you'd call any of the opposition "fat/skinny/shortarse/ginger/skinhead/poof/.....etc" just to antagonise and get some reaction. I used to try to wind black opposition up back then (40-50 years ago) and the blacks in our team (my best mates at the time) would laugh their heads off.
You'd think that 40/50 years later snowflakes would give black people more credit and respect. They are actually less 'offended' than fatties!

Which is why I'm interested to see the full report, and what words he actually used, before judging for myself. Either way, the FA have been consistently clear about what it's acceptable or unacceptable to say on a football pitch, and anyone playing in this country should be familiar with those rules.

Understand what your saying and over the years I’ve said many things to wind players up. You say the world has gone mad, well in today’s society what was said to Leko was wrong he has been bought up to know certain words ,statements are wrong as the whole world is trying to get countries to see that what was right 40,30 20 or even 10years ago is now totally wrong . I stood though the abuse our own 3 degrees got and it made me sit up and take notice. We have to be more politically correct ,if what Casilla said in his mind was not abuse, then he has to be re-educated as in today’s society this cannot be allowed .

Casilla's lame excuse that he wasn't aware that what he said was racist is ridiculous in a day and age when everbody knows what you can & can't say anymore.
Leko's had to wait since the end of September for this to be dealt with. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a supporter shouted whatever it was he said from the stands they'd get a lifetime ban, where's the difference here. It's some good taking players off the pitch for racist abuse and abandoning games when this prick gets just an 8 game ban for doing it on the pitch to another player
