WBA vs Huddersfield - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 19-09-2019

With Albion now the only unbeaten team in the Championship, the onus is on Bilic and the boys to really push on from here, turn draws into wins and fight for the place in the table that our stubbornness and resilience (if not our defensive strength or goalscoring prowess) merit. We have that chance at noon on Sunday with the visit of Huddersfield, who appear at some point in the last twelve months to have plunged through a portal to one of the inner circles of Hell (which, to be fair, is an occupational hazard of habitually negotiating the M62). New boss Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky have arrived at a club winless for eighteen games in all competitions, who've already lost six of their seven league matches this season, who sit one from bottom by virtue of goal difference alone, and have won just two games from their last thirty-six; both, rather hilariously, against Wolves. And it goes without saying that when your only joy in life comes from visiting Wolverhampton, something has gone desperately awry with your universe.
I can't pretend to have watched too much of the Terriers in this disastrous spell, so I'll welcome input from Town fans on what exactly has gone wrong over the last year, at the risk of being buried beneath the replies of "bloody everything, lad". It's all a far cry from Huddersfield's last outing at the Hawthorns, when they strolled to a fairly straightforward victory against an abject Albion, and I hope our esteemed visitors won't be too offended by the suggestion that on paper at least, the Baggies should be looking to reverse that result this time round. But naturally we're far from invincible, and all bad records come to an end sooner or later, so any complacency on our side could potentially get punished, as Wolves would undoubtedly attest.
Obviously I do hope that Town can dig their way out of the hole and gain some upward momentum: just leave it till next week, eh?

Albion are alaways the bearer of gifts to those who havnt won for like a eternity.
And I mean alaways, a similar story always seems to follow us around,
Not just present but i remeber back as far as November 83 and a murky old day and Wolves were the visitors.
Without a win, bottom of the League Wolves came to the Hawthorns ready for a beating ........
Needless to say as mentioned above Albion did what they always seem to do and roll over when teams that are going through a bad batch come to town,
The final score was a embarrising 1-3 win for the dingles with Robbie Dennison netting a couple of Beauties,
So its with regret that the same will happen again , Town will score early and that will be that,
0-1 Uddersfield

Those were the worst ever football shirts and from a time when we were much worse than we are now.
You won that game 3-2, but 2 weeks after this we lost 10-1 at Man City. Which the question now has to be.....

I have this horrible feeling about the "irresistible force against the immoveable object" theory.
We should win, we are at home, were on the box, given our form and Huddersfield's form, but we are the perennial gift that keeps on giving!
I would lump on an away win, records are there to be broken and I just get this uneasy feeling!!!

I’d like to see Krovinovic come back into the team for this one with Phillips dropping to the bench and Pereira moving to the right wing. Edwards in on the left wing in place of Diangana. That should give us decent midfield balance in possession because Periera will float around on the right wing while Edwards will stick more toward the touch line on the left wing and run against Hadergjonaj. Krovinovic then has the free role to float around the middle of the pitch supported by Livermore with Sawyers sitting deeper to get on the ball. Zohore in for Austin up front.
As this is West Brom, I expect we’ll probably draw this rather than be cut throat and win by a couple of goals.
