As things stand, we're heading into the second international break in a decent league position, though the fear remains that unlike other promotion seasons, we have a couple of key players to thank for our fortunes rather than a balanced and well-adjusted Championship team. The first eighty minutes of Wednesday night were pretty much an illustrated guide of Reasons Why We Probably Won't Get Promoted; the last fifteen were Reasons Why We Might Just Blag It Anyway. There's still a ton of work to be done, but this weekend we can cap a decent run with a home match against a struggling Reading side, and if the forward line fires on all cylinders after a lacklustre midweek performance, there's every chance we may regain a top two spot for the next fortnight.

Beefy, in regards to Reading being a bogey team you may be on to something... The whole manager of the month thing, however...

Thanks Mr Joker , maybe its just our managers that are cursed then when they win it then ?

RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - TheFunkyJoker - 06-10-2018

I'd be more concerned about the "Jokers feeling optimistic" curse. I'm feeling a win for us tomorrow, so naturally we'll lose 1-0 to a 94th minute goal or something ridiculous.

I love the picture. If I’m right, that was the game we won 1-0 at the Hawthorns and Big Romelu scored the only goal. For me it was particularly memorable because my youngest son Joe was a mascot and he walked out with Romelu. Wonderful memories! As much as we’d love another shedload of goals on Saturday, I’d settle for the same score

The team is:
Johnstone
Dawson - Hegazi - Bartley
Mears - Livermore - Barry - Gibbs
Barnes
Gayle - Rodriguez

Subs - Myhill, Adarabioyo, Townsend, Brunt, Edwards, Hoolahan, Robson-Kanu

Leeds drew 1-1 with Brentford. Boro play Forest.

Darren has an odd stance on his team selections, but it works for him.
I will be glad when this season is over and the older generation are pensioned off.
We are totally focused on winning games, very little thought for the future.
Why give Morrison a new contract and then not play him?
If your not going to play the youngsters send them out on loan for games.
Our DOF should be having an input by now, but nothing has changed.
Darren baffles me at times.

1-0 down after 6 minutes and defensive problems continue to haunt us.

With the team, I was hoping to see a couple of more changes to keep things fresh. We don't want to stagnate by not rotating the squad when we have 3 matches in a week.

It’s early days but BD only normally has one plan. No Burke again. BD is as stubborn as Pulis but we have to trust him.
