Prediction League Results / A Year On - bomberbrown1968 - 03-09-2018

Just to compare where those who competed last year stand this time around after 5 weeks.

Correct results - up, correct scores - up, points - up, and the tables are so much closer than last year, I reckon the change to the scoring this year has had the desired effect  Thumb up

Good to see that based on the number of correct predictions we're getting better.

Or it could be that Beefy's picking easier games.

RE: Prediction League Results / A Year On - Beefy 1965 - 03-09-2018

Wow , I tend to agree with Bomber the way the scores are so much tighter that the scoring system is working much better , As for for picking easier games I don't think that's the case, IMO the reason for better scoring is that the punishments are not so hard EG zero instead of -1 for a wrong score is a huge benefit and with the Balls being reduced both ways it easier to get very few overall minus scores, be interesting to see who gets the first one Whistle
And on another Issue the Premiership must be Shi**ing their pants at my slow start Laugh

Beefy, I see your whistling smilie, but there have been two minus scores already, DD (-1) in week four but the honour of being the first to score a minus score -2 goes to the one and only Amelia, sorry Amelia, but she managed to go, no no, wait for it, zero weeks before she crashed and burned in week one ....... she had a far better return this week, it's a marathon not a sprint aye Amelia. Funny how both minus scores come in the greed league Whistle Whistle Whistle .......

Ah OK I thought someone in their write up this week put .......... was almost the first person to get a minus score ??
Must check back  Thumb up

You tell him 4eva  Laugh

But are you 100% sure Whistle

RE: Prediction League Results / A Year On - St Charles Owl - 04-09-2018

4eva is correct, Amelia did indeed score -2 in week one, I scored that but obviously completely forgot about it!!!  DD didn’t get -1 through his predictions, that was due to him failing to predict anything at all, as he hasn’t been seen for a couple of weeks now!! Huh

RE: Prediction League Results / A Year On - Zinman - 04-09-2018

Beefy, if you look at the comparatives, we are getting more predictions right in terms of correct results and scores regardless of the scoring system.
Therefore it’s your fault!

Ticked a nerve there Didn't I, you missed the bit where as a slow starter I'm already 2nd,
Take it I was your worst nightmare getting promoted Whistle

Oh by the way guys No Prediction League THIS WEEK Thumb up

RE: Prediction League Results / A Year On - Baggievicar - 04-09-2018

I think the increased number of correct predictions is probably entirely down to the face that I'm not in the league this year.

Not one to shirk a challenge, here's what we'd all be on now with last years scoring system.

We'd all be worse off, but no surprise there as there's no -1 for a wrong result. But stairs gives the best example of the Gamball change, as he's got all 5 wrong so far yet has 51 points, while of the Baggies clan Beefy tops the Gamball charts with 4 correct results yet is only 15 points better off, with the old system that 15 points would be 29.

The other stand out is that this season there's 40 points between top and bottom scorers, whereas with the old system it would have been 51 Thumb up
