Lets help the board. - Foxman_WBA - 09-11-2017 So, there are suggestions that TP isn’t being sacked in the morning and is still here, maybe this is due to the board not knowing where to go after for a Manager. As West Ham appoint Moyes and Everton seem to be struggling it would appear that there aren’t any Managers out there and so I thought I’d give the board a helping hand and throw a few names into the mix; 1.) Chris Wilder – has been absolutely class for Sheffield United, dragged a poor team out of League 1 and into the Championship and is now looking at successive back to back promotions. Impressive for any manager. 2.) Ronald Koeman – Bit of an obvious one but has shown that he is a good manager at top level and with no manager seeming to want the Everton job it seems it was a poison chalice to begin with. 3.) Brendan Rogers – did a great job with Swansea, also a good job with Liverpool considering what has then happened since and obviously now working wonders at Celtic. The big question is would he leave, doubt it but it nice to dream. 4.) Domineco Tedesco – The current Schalke manager is only 32 and has guided Schalke to 4th in the Budesliga, obviously it would be huge to turn his head but the Premier League is where all the money is these days and as it says money talks. 5.) Slavan Bilic – I know what you’re thinking, are you nuts, well quite possibly, but let’s be honest, the current West Ham team are in all kinds of trouble and with Sullivan and Gold at the helm there’s only so much you can do but his first few seasons in charge were very good getting west ham to 8th. Id like to think we should be aiming for around that point rather than languishing just above relegation. Bottom of the list though as im sure there are better out there. Is there anyone else we can throw into the mix to help the board out? RE: Lets help the board. - baggietrousers - 09-11-2017 Actually I don't think Bilic would be a bad call, however my choice would be McInnes. RE: Lets help the board. - drewks - 09-11-2017 Anyone but Big Sam RE: Lets help the board. - WBA-Josh - 09-11-2017 Vladimir Petković (Switzerland), José Luis Mendilibar (Eibar) and Christophe Galtier (Saint-Etienne 2011-2017) would be good left field options. RE: Lets help the board. - Baggiebob(BBB) - 09-11-2017 Please anyone who likes to see attractive football - anyone i say, anyone before I go mad. Go mad I say! ![]() RE: Lets help the board. - Sir Megson - 09-11-2017 Personally I think the rebuild extends beyond just appointing a manager. Although Megson did a brilliant job and achieved so much at this club; effectively getting us to where we are now, his appointment as assistant was very much a PR move to try and get fans onside and try and deflect some of the anti Pulis stuff imo. We need a real rebuild of the coaching staff team altogether. Of all the out of work managers Koeman is head and shoulders above the rest and is the only real upgrade on Pulis. Anyone else would just be sideways step and not the right appointment that we need to take WBA forward. Against Chelsea the team will have my backing but if we see the same lethargic performance like we put in Vs Huddersfield, I'll definitely do my part in helping the board know what the fans who are paying good money feel about the poor performances that Pulis is in charge of. Negative tactics or not, the players have not looked like ones who want to bust their guts and and get the pressure off Pulis. Coming over to clap the away fans chanting Pulis out speaks volumes to be honest, and shows what they're thinking too. I agree 100% about Ronald Koeman being the stand out candidate and he should be the clubs first choice. The only reservation I have about him is lack of experience in relegation battles. All of the clubs that he has been at in his coaching career have been battling for top positions in their individual leagues. With all that said, he is definitely still my first choice and I hope the club will have him under consideration when the time is right for TP to leave. (Hopefully after the Chelsea game) Ronald Koeman's career stats - http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ronald-koeman/profil/trainer/439 RE: Lets help the board. - Beefy 1965 - 10-11-2017 Excuse the spelling josh is Ralf Rangnick still available ? Was very highly rated ? RE: Lets help the board. - Slick_Footwork - 10-11-2017 How's about Graham Potter? Ex baggie, seems to be performing miracles with Östersunds and has them punching well about their weight in Europa League beating the likes of Galatasary and PAOK while holding Athletic Bilbao. Good football, possession based. Had more of the ball than Bilbao on their own patch. Elsewhere, Paulo Sousa, Ralf Rangnick, Jose Mendilibar, Quique Setién are all choices I'd be happy with. I'm not overly enamoured with Koeman or McInnes. Koeman seemed to lose the plot with Everton this year, he was a kid in a candy shop with his budget and employed a similar negative midfield to what Pulis has here. It could be fair to say that without Lukaku, they would've been relegation fodder last season. As for McInnes, I think he needs to prove himself elsewhere first, as success in Scotland is quite hit and miss in terms of proving yourself as a manager. A friend of mine is a Bristol City fan and he was a disaster there. RE: Lets help the board. - wba1978 - 10-11-2017 (10-11-2017, 01:16)Slick_Footwork Wrote: How's about Graham Potter?
