NEW CEO - Devongone - 05-10-2017

I was wondering what people made of our new Chief Executive? The fact we appointed him worries me. Putting us on your CV doesn't look a great move!

I've never got why we need a CEO, but aside from that he'd look a decent shout if I trusted Ashley Carson. He was at Everton for ten years. Argyle looks a blot on any copybook, but when a lot of rich men ran away from there it was after Mr Dunford was made redundant ..... and the club decided not to have a CEO for several seasons. Make of that what you like.

Similarly being at Plymouth Albion rugby for only six weeks looks strange, but following take-overs all non-playing staff at Plymouth Albion were served redundancy notices. Chief Executive Michael Dunford resigned in protest.

My opinion is, whether it is accidental or deliberate, Mr Dunford might be the real deal. Amazingly he also looks the part - doesn't look as though he's just finished a night shift at Stocksbridge or came to end of a term for fraud in Leicester Jail.

He is so old I don't think he will need to add to his CV.He must be 70 but he did speak well. I hope he can move us forward before the dementia sets in

Blue, that's some put down. "He must be 70 but he did speak well" Not all oldies lose the ability to communicate when they reach retirement age, some can even use computers and phones.

Anything has to be better than CT and he seems pretty solid to me. Will see if he is just a mouthpiece soon enough but the idea of regular fans forums will go down well.

I liked him. His interview sounded good.

The advantage of age is that we are unlikely to be stuck with him for years and years if we are not moving forward.

Probity, honesty, financial acumen and knowing how to deal with people don't tend to change. Don't think he's as old as me, but I already trust him more than the sociopathic Turner, or the smooooooth puppet Carson.

He spoke openly and did not dissemble on any topic raised in the Peak interview. That's new!

If Mr Dunford's age is relevant he must have been born in 1954 - so he's two years younger than me - you bstd Pooch!

A biography of Brian Clough relates how a 17 year-old Dunford was given a key by his boss the Club Secretary and instructed NOT to hand it over to ANYONE! This followed the January cup tie against Wolves ...... it was apparently common practice for thousands of pounds to be left lying around in wastepaper baskets etc. Clough demanded the keys from Dunford. The young man stolidly refused and was sacked on the spot. The Club Secretary reinstated him the next day after Dunford's dad, a Special Constable, protested to the club.

If Mr Dunford had the guts at only 17 to stand up to Brian Clough I think he'll do for me.

If he is only 63 he must have had a big paper round thats all I can say .

RE: NEW CEO - Devongone - 06-10-2017

According to Bob's he's actually 64 Pooch but he was 17 in 1971. He's got his hair, his figure by the looks and he can speak. And he answers the question asked rather than the one he wanted to answer!

Dave Allen isn't too old to be in charge of everything. Oh Jeremy Corbyn's older, so is John McDonnell and they're up for running the country.

But then I'd have taken Betty Boop or Scooby Doo over Chris Turner. He's about your age isn't he Pooch ........ and considerably lighter?

RE: NEW CEO - Dancingwilldoit - 06-10-2017

According to Blue, me and you Dev should be quietly sat in a corner of a nursing home eating rusks.

RE: NEW CEO - Devongone - 06-10-2017

I just had a crumpet. At least that's what the lady told me.

RE: NEW CEO - bluepooch - 06-10-2017

My crumpet days are over ....
Id say I'm about the same height and build as CT but he could be older than me I think .

RE: NEW CEO - Devongone - 06-10-2017

Jeez Pooch you're a doughnut then .....

Your streaking days are over too - by public demand.

Anyway let's all pray for Dancing. We send him to Spain and he starts a civil war. Strange phrase that isn't it, what could be less civil than a war?
