THE MATCH

SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 1:15PM KICK OFF

We finally renew our rivalry with the Blunts after 5 years of them drifting in the wilderness of the Pub league. They seemed to have found Warnock mark 2, in Wilder, the difference wilder plays attacking football compared to Warnocks anti football tactics. This is the ultimate test for Carlos and it isn't just another game. We did win the last Derby back in 2012 when Chris O'Grady got the winner, which helped us on our way to Promotion to the Championship and the Blunts losing out in the playoffs as usual. 48 Wins apiece and 44 draws but we have the two most famous wins, the Semi back in 93 and of course THE BOXING DAY MASSACRE back in 79.

LAST MATCH

I think we all would have took a point before hand against Colin, but to have it snatched away in the 5th minute of 4 MINUTES of injury time and possibly offside as-well, it nearly felt like a defeat. Hooper bagged his fourth in four games and is our go-to man at the moment

WHOS THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Too early for this but I fear we might get another PL dud.

THE TEAM

Carlos has gone with the diamond at home in a few games this season so I expect him to go with it again, it's just who goes where and is available. United tend to go with 3 centre backs so it should an interesting tactical battle.

Probable team:

Westwood, Hunt, Lees, Van Aken, Reach, Wallace, Jones, Bannan, Lee, Hooper, Fletcher

Cheers, Kev. Thumb up

I'm already bubbling so I'll be a right state come Sunday. Big Grin

This is a really difficult game to call. They've spent nowhere near the money we have but they play well as a unit and like to move forward a lot.

Van Aken is Jooost the man we need (gets coat) to play balls from the back, I'm really happy with what I've seen of him so far, it more than makes up for the few mistakes he's made.

2-2 Hooper

Thread is blessed. Did someone say 2-1?

Hutch & Abdi back in full training, Loovens still out and FF several months.

Rumours doing the rounds that Billy Sharp & Leon Clarke have had a training ground bust-up, with Sharp breaking a couple of ribs and out for 2 months.

RE: The Owls v The Blunts SBC Match Thread - Imre varadi - 22-09-2017

We wont see Hutch untill the leeds game i reckon ! the way he played on his last comeback game at preston suggests that he wont get picked as a first team player without a few starts from the bench first ! or should do as he was slower than feffing loovens that day Whistle and as for abdi & Loovens good i dont want to see them in a wednesday shirt ever again Whistle
