The Brummie Road End celebrates Albion's League Cup Final win over West Ham, the Hawthorns, March 1966

After a wretched performance and heavy defeat on the south coast last weekend, Albion will look to bounce back on Saturday at home to West Ham, who picked up their first win of the campaign on Monday night. If there's one good thing about the Brighton debacle, it's that it allows us to start from scratch with the line-up: no one gets to walk into the side based solely on their form in August. Put players who want to wear the shirt on the pitch, in positions they're actually good at playing in, and there's every chance that this week we might not be three goals down before we start to look like a football team.

With a tough League Cup fixture up next and our usual tricky Emirates trip looming, we could really do with a win to keep the confidence of the players up (not to mention us long-suffering sods). The Hammers didn't look especially convincing on Monday night: there should be three points for the taking here, as long as we can put out a team prepared to take them.

Spot on as usual Ska'd and let's just hope Pulis stops this stupid business of playing right backs at left back and centre halfs at right back and so on. Put them in their favoured position for goodness sake and also let's see a bit more ambition going forward.
It ain't that 'ard is it?

The following is what I would play:

Foster
Nyom - Dawson - Evans - Brunt
Krychowiak - Barry
Phillips - Morrison - Chadli
Rodriguez

Myhill
Hegazi
Gibbs
Yacob
Livermore
Burke
Rondon

I can see TP playing Livermore instead of Morrison and McLean instead of Chadli.

Going to this one, so quite excited for it, hopefully we'll put out a team with a bit more of an attacking threat this time, and change up the midfield 3. It'd be nice for Gibbs to start too.

West Ham have been fairly poor so far but they've got a lot of talent going forward, so we should be wary of them but still a game worth aiming to win.

Didn't I read that Barry will equal Gigg's record number of PL starts with HIS next start? That's a fantastic achievement, n'est pas?
Presuming this'll be done tomorrow. Thumb up Thumb up

So will this be a feast of inventive, attacking football or a case of them humping the ball up to Caroll and us humping it up to Rondon/Rodriguez?

I've gone for 0-0.

Looking forward to this one and until Brighton we've had a good start to the season.

Going on what was said at the press conference I think we could see the reintroduction of Chadli tomorrow. If he, Phillips and Rodriguez or Rondon have a good game we've got every chance of a good win here as West Ham look weak at the back.

The pole in the hole alongside Barry could well have a huge influence in this one. There's a perception that he's a holding midfielder but he's not. Out and out box to box and hopefully he'll be given the opportunity to show that part of his game tomorrow.

COYB!

If the PITH (Pole in the hole) is B2B (Box to box)  so much the better. I will be there and look forward in anticipation of watching PITH get MoM.
