Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - 0762 - 23-08-2017 And it's a Sunday fixture 'for a change' and I'd expect a lotta hibees to be heading north in anticipation of a quick recovery from an embarrassing home defeat at the hands of Hamilton. We'll find out soon enough if this team has enough pride and 'backbone' to respond and 'do the biz'. I'll be curious to see if certain players who never 'showed up' for Hibs, or let the side down with horrendous mistakes, in that defeat will be given a game by Lenny! As for Dundee, they have hit a bad run of form and I'm assuming that they will lose Haber and El Bakhtaoui to injuries incurred in their last match that they were incidentally a tad unlucky to lose v a poor performing Dons' team. GGTTH RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - hibeejim21 - 24-08-2017 We have scored 7 goals in 3 league games. This time we really need to keep the clean sheet. Im a bit wary of dundee, from what i've seen they have played better than their results suggest. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - ritchiebaby - 24-08-2017 Dundee will be tricky opponents, so we need to cut out the silly, schoolboy errors and get back some passion into our performance. I expect at least 3 changes, back towards the team v The Rangers. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2017 1st half we have played well and been the better side, barker and slivka both excellent. Scored a fine goal, forced great saves from the dundee goalie and had a stonewall pk denied. On the minus side whittaker gave away a clumsy pk very early on (grrrrr) and we have looked a bit fragile at the back at times. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2017 finishes 1-1 and a real sense of 2 points dropped. We outplayed dundee the day and their keeper won them a point. 15 corners and 21 shots on goal tell you everything. Should have had a pk too. Pleased with our overall play and performance though, big improvement from last week. Maybe big dave should have came on for murray in the last 10 instead of the younger murray but i got the vibe lennon was trying to make sure we didn't lose the 3 points as well as pushing on for a winner. Was a good match though, played at a good pace. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - 0762 - 27-08-2017 FT 1-1 and I'm glad I didn't attend this match today mainly because of the frustration of watching so many gilt-edged scoring opps being scorned by Hibs forwards who, on occasions, seemed to think that the goal was located in row z behind the Dee goal. Hibs must have had about 20+ shots on goal with Dundee the exact opposite and 'shot shy'!! Their goalie, Baine, certainly saved them but IMO they never deserved a single point out of this match TBF. As for the pk award, agreed re that unnecessary slow lunge on Deacon by Whittaker, but I must say you don't award a pk to a player who is already 'diving' well before any kinda 'coming together' and I'd certainly challenge BT Sport's Andy Walker re his take on that pk award itself. In other words, the poor challenge by Whittaker (in Walker's view) merited that pk decision but Deacon was already in the process of his 'swan dive'!!! A good number of decent refs (incl me!) would have rebuffed his appeal and explained to him, in no uncertain terms, that he was 'playing for it'!! I thought Barker and Stokesy + possibly Fraser Murray with a 'snip' of a goal opp, should have put some 'gloss' on a decent Hibs win today but it wasn't to be. We move on with a slight concern that our strikers are lacking a bit of clinical awareness and should be 'banging in the goals' that endorse a decent performance/victory!! GGTTH RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2017 Lennon confirms after the game that we rejected a bid for mcginn from forest that was 'laughable'. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - 0762 - 27-08-2017 The 'bread man' still trying to pick up players 'on the cheap'. I'd always tell that specific 'chancer' to f### off esp after the events of 2015 during the Scotty Allan 'signing fiasco'!! RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - hibeejim21 - 27-08-2017 International break gives us a chance to look at what we can do a bit better. I'd say our corners need some work and our 'game management'. We have started every league game playing catch up. Sort it out ffs! Other than that we deserve a lot of credit,we are playing some excellent football at a good tempo. RE: Dundee v Hibs, Sun 27 August, KO 12.30pm - 0762 - 27-08-2017 I perceive that in the majority of our matches we start fairly slow in tempo (a period when we are certainly vulnerable) and then we 'grow into a match' as it progresses through the 90 mins. I still view Lenny's main predicament to be identifying what is Hibs best line up in terms of balance and striking potential. I'd like to see Boyly's return asap. I regard Barker as showing 'some potential' but IMO he failed the 'acid test' in the 2nd half when he ran through on Baine, after that exquisite 'through baw' from John McGinn, and what happened to the 'fine touch' and 'decent rising shot' past the advancing Dundee goalie and into the upper part of the Dundee net - a 'defining moment' of this match when the scoring opp was there but he couldn't take it!!! ![]() |
