we need a league - Baggievicar - 29-07-2017
After this afternoon's results I don't think I can face the season without a prediction league to take my mind off the Albion.
I don't mind running a small-scale one on the following basis -
Each week you'll be asked to predict something like:
the highest scoring match in that round of Prem matches,
the team picking up most cards,
the team with the highest possession stat (I'll have to take it from the BBC site so it will probably be dodgy, but never mind),
and the upset of the round based on league positions.
There will also be an additional one-off question each week so that there are 5 altogether.
That's all off the top of my head, to see if anyone's interested. I have a vague idea how scoring might work but I'll save that for another post if anyone thinks it's worth running. If you do, please post asap so I can work things out before the season starts.
I could throw it out to other teams - Stairs, is there life on this site apart from ourselves, Huddersfield and the Owls?

Vic, as our footy next season is likely to be dire, we do need an alternative that may be a lot more interesting and stimulating.

I dont mind if you want to start up the prediction League again
Just need a couple of people who can do the scoring ?
Whatever the numbers split into two divisions so we can have a promotion/relegation scrap
Can anyone put tables onto a spreadsheet for us all to see ?
Thats not a massive problem as i could just write them out
But If i had a couple of people too send me say Division one scores and the other Division Two that would be great
With Vicars Blessing of course as you may want to go ahead with your Idea

Scoring System
Bonus Ball =
................ Insurance ball =

Incorrect Result = - 1 point
Incorrect Result (Insurance Ball) = 0
Incorrect Result (Bonus Ball) = - 2
Incorrect Result (Gamball) = - 4
Correct Result = + 2 points
Correct Result (Bonus Ball) = + 4
Correct Result (Gamball) = + 8
Correct Score = + 4 points
Correct Score (Bonus Ball) = + 8
Correct Score (Gamball) = + 16
* You must use the Gamball on the Game chosen , This game will be marked with ** in front of the chosen game, highlighted Red, and have the smiley
at the end of it to avoid any confusion. You DO NOT have to play the Gamball , Your score will then be marked as normal (Y)If anybody plays the wrong ball on the Gamball game, this ball will be treated as though you have used it and therefore scored as such.
If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out. :'(
Unless you talk to us nicely (Well the Joker that is)
The Example that is shown for the minus score will increase by one each time you fail to predict.
Strike 2, -2 below the lowest score , then finally strike 3, -3 below the lowest score unless in your league unless all scores finish above Zero, Then Zero is what you will score ,
All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.
* NEW & UPDATED 2017/18 PARTICIPANTS,
I'm almost 100% sure Myself & the Scorers get the scores added up correctly, From time to time over the season we may get now and again get this wrong, SO IN THE EVENT OF ANY POINTS DISCREPANCIES can i ask all you guys to check your predictions and if you feel they are incorrect in anyway contact me Via PM within a week of the TABLES & SCORES being presented and they will be corrected the following week.
Anything later unless it is a Major error will NOT be corrected. It is as much your responsibility to check your scores as much as it is ours to try and score them correctly.

Just looked at their sections and both seem to have their own leagues.
