Don't know if you all know the background to this but on Bobs Board this morning is a statement that one of the posters had a visit from heavies to get him to stop posting there. If he didn't stop they threatened his family. It suggests that the threat is being investigated.
Just where on earth is our club going? I know the poster in question personally and all he has ever done is post fact. Just unbelievable.

RE: Threats - Devongone - 15-05-2017

Tell him to post on here under another handle. We could handle some facts.

Please tell us more.

Maybe I should post everything people want to say on Bobs Board. They'd have a long way to come to keep me quiet.

Start here about 5 posts down http://www.thecfss.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=56809&st=4280

Mike posted as Freelander 2, him and his wife run Spire Marketing who in the past have supported the club with sponsorship etc. He has been pretty vigorous in digging up a lot of information regarding the links between the demised enterprise set up by Turner and Sutcliffe and the club. He has been working with a few other BB members to make sure the receivers do a thorough investigation into the winding up.
There is more than a slight suggestion of large amounts of cash going astray and finding its way into somebodies pocket / pockets. He has obviously hit a raw nerve somewhere along the way.

RE: Threats - Devongone - 15-05-2017

Well ............... I thought there were a lot of heartening statements FROM genuine fans who clearly only want the club to be run properly. I trust we will hear the same from the club. Hmmmmm.

Your friend Mike is a hero. Tell him! I wish it were the old days when I knew a lot of hard lads in local football. I know I shouldn't sink to their level, but some people do only operate on the one level.

I have actually posted on Bob's Board two or three times but I rarely access it. I am serious though. I would be willing to post comments and concerns unedited back onto Bob's Board under my handle for anyone who feels intimidated by potential identification. (They'd probably have to wait until we are playing Torquay in two year's time to get me.)

RE: Threats - spireitematt - 15-05-2017

This is why we need to be vigilant about what we post and think before we post. I read something similar a few years ago which happened to a Liverpool fan who was a blogger.

RE: Threats - Dancingwilldoit - 15-05-2017

Thing is Matt if you post the truth then nobody should have any concerns unless they are lying cheating scumbags. Its so easy these days to get somebody to do your dirty work for you for a bit of pocket money. If you have fleeced over £250k from a certain enterprise then a grand or so is small change to try and cover your tracks.
One thing I can promise is that if anybody came knocking at my place of work threatening, it would be the last thing they ever did.

RE: Threats - bluepooch - 15-05-2017

I cannot believe the police or at least journalists have not been involved in all this well before now if everything I am hearing is true .

RE: Threats - Devongone - 16-05-2017

We can't all be police, but we can all be journalists these days. We can all and should ALL blow the whistle on dishonesty and injustice.

Sending the lads round seems pretty much like an admission that there are guilty secrets.

WE should take inspiration from the film Spartacus. Everyone should join the I'm Freelander Too campaign. There's a huge difference between being defamatory, libelous or slanderous AND asking legitimate, probing if awkward questions .

RE: Threats - Dancingwilldoit - 17-05-2017

Just wondering why the club have been so quiet re this issue. AC was made aware of it over 2 weeks ago but there has been no statement whatsoever distancing the club from it saying its deplorable.
The other surprise is the rumor that when DA was involved at Hillsborough, one of his co directors stated he was threatened with heavies if he didn't tow the line and shut up. Probably just coincidence but you never know do you.

RE: Threats - Devongone - 17-05-2017

AC has been busy with vital issues like publicising the new sponsor of the restaurant on the website.

The SBK Computers Spires Restaurant, by the time you've said the name you've developed anorexia.
