Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - St Charles Owl - 22-12-2016

THE MATCH - MONDAY 26TH DECEMBER 2016 at 7.45PM BST

I am sure that when the fixtures came out in June most of us would have looked at first who we had on Boxing Day and second when we were playing the Geordies!! Well both were found on the same fixture!! When Newcastle got relegated at the end of last season I think most of us knew that they would likely spend big and make sure they get back at the first attempt, and after a slowish start they have certainly been the standout team so far this season and there appears to be nothing that will prevent them from getting one of the auto spots!! Their team is managed by one of the best around and they have plenty of proven PL players in the first team, this one will be tough to say the least!!!

Having said that, we have nothing to prove as such and hopefully CC can send us out with a nothing to lose attitude and let us have a go. We are clear favorites to lose this one but they are not unbeatable, and at least having a go will put them on the back foot a bit!! Confused

This will be the 129th meeting between us and they have the upper hand with a record of W40 D31 L57, and our record at their place is not pretty either. Over the last 10 games there we have lost 7, only 2 wins, so its not been a great place for us to visit!! Our last match there though was a win, last season in the League Cup so we do have players who have experienced a win there!!

Not a great performance but a good 3 points!! Not sure why theeir goal was disallowed and while there was contact for the penalty, it wasn't much. But I'll take that!!!

we are now playing against 12 so cc will have to be clever to get at least a draw here Sad
