Match Thread - Reading v SWFC - St Charles Owl - 07-12-2016

THE MATCH - SATURDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2016 at 3PM BST

At the start of the season I think this fixture would have been seen as a tough game as it always is but with their form and results since Jaap Stam took over this could be one of the toughest we have faced so far this season. I think its fair to say that none of us had them down as challengers this season, but here we are at the 20th game and they sit in 3rd place, 3 places and points ahead of us!! They lost heavily at Fulham at the weekend which saw their run of 5 straight wins broken, thats the sort of run we need so we need the win here to get us to 3 straight.

This will only be the 21st meeting between us, probably the smallest number of games for us this season apart from Burton. The record is even at W8, D4, L8, but they have the edge at their place with 6 wins to our 4 at the 11 games played there. This fixture last season saw us get a 1-1 draw, with Hooper opening the scoring only for them to peg us back in the second half.

THE LAST MATCH

Another win but at what cost?? Forestieri stupidly got sent off, we lost Loovens and Wallace to injuries and Buckly was a passenger for the final 15 mins. So we lose FF for 3 key games and god knows where the other tow are in terms of fitness. Hooper is still out as well. Of course it could have been worse, at least our players didn't have a scrap on the pitch amonst themselves!!!

WHO'S IN AND WHO'S OUT

Multiple injuries to worry about so I expect a different 11 out there. A lot will depend on who is fit, will Loovens make it so Hutch can stay in the midfield, will Buckley be fit to replace Wallace and who will replace FF?? I hope we see Abdi in the FF role to give him a few games to find his form. Will Joao keep his starting role?? Here is my team:

Draw at best here, Reading seem to have found their feet lately. Would be elated at a win actually. I'd expect Abdi to feature. Emanuelsson might even be on the bench
