"Right, who ordered a taxi to Northfield?" Garry Thompson and Clive Whitehead secure a win over Watford, 1st October 1983

So the long-awaited three-game winning streak sadly eluded us last weekend, and we were left to rue our missed chances once again. But we remain in good shape, unbeaten through November, and are now entering the pre-Christmas season with a chance to pile on a few more points before we start piling on the pounds.

A win against Watford on Saturday would take us nicely onto twenty points - the Christmas present that every Premier League team wants in the bag by Boxing Day - and with plenty of time to spare. However, it won't be easy (is it ever?) as our opponents, Watford, are having another very decent season of their own and currently perch a point and a place above us in the table. Their success so far this season has mainly been built on their home form, but they've proven themselves capable of snatching an away win here and there when needed, so this may prove a good encounter.

A draw would probably be satisfactory if push comes to shove, but we can't really afford to get too complacent with teams at the bottom still picking up points, so hopefully we'll be going for the win to start the festive period in style.

A distinct lack of interest (so far) for this game. Is there a general apathy, or is it because we just don't know what to expect from our poor Head Coach?

I'd be inclined to pick last week's starting XI, except for Chadli taking Captain Fletcher's place.

That would be my team. We've had better football in the last 3 games; would be nice to take the slightly more attacking ethos a step further forward by rejigging the personnel slightly. Morrison can do Fletcher's job esp. at home.

Suspect he won't leave out Fletcher but may replace Brunt with Chadli, citing tiredness after such a long injury and needing time to build up fitness and strength.

A bit apathetic. It's like coming out of a bout of flu - you reckon you're a lot better, but don't have much energy. It's been a loooong bout of Pulis-inspired flu, with a few better signs recently, so it'll take more decent performances to have me up and fizzing.

Still a bit guarded, but 2 goals up s/b enough.
2 good goals, but 57% pass accuracy is taking the gloss off a decent performance.

Sounds like they are in control, Drewks, but, as we all know, that could be the kiss of death so will happily settle for this score at FT
