WBA vs West Ham - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 28-04-2016

The Brummie Road End celebrates Albion's League Cup Final win over West Ham, the Hawthorns, March 1966

A good second half at Spurs on Monday night led, finally, to a deserved point for Albion, but still doesn't absolve either players or manager for a series of insipid home performances in recent months and an ongoing winless streak. It's safe to say that breaking fifty points this season is now very unlikely, but it would be nice to imagine that at least one more home win might not be too much to ask. However, West Ham - still in the race for European football next season - will also be eager to add to their points total, and will want to be on the front foot.

Not much more to be said other than that there are thirty-eight matches in every season, and that people don't pay less money to see the ones at the very end when we're nice and safe, so there should be no less effort from anyone at the club in these games. Keep up the attitude from the second half on Monday and that'll be a start.

The trouble is, we're not safe yet, so we have to play, and I'd like us to play for a win in order to get the draw we'll probably end up with.

I might trust you, but I don't trust Albion or the football gods.
We can still go down, and that's a fact.
We've wasted so many opportunities to determine our own safety but we keep f****** it up. Until Pulis pulls his finger out and we get one more win, I won't be trusting anybody. Thumb down

Jonathan Leko becomes the first player born in 1999 to start a @premierleague game #WBA

Very happy with Leko starting - looks a powerful player and deserves his shot at the first team. My only concern with that team out today is the fact Morrison hasn't made the squad again so must be having recurring problems recovering from injury. We've struggled creatively without Jimmy in the side and I was hoping he'd at least be fit enough for the bench today.

Going by stats - or actual measurable facts - that's not been the case this Season. Brunt, Morrison & Gardner have more assists this Season than Sess.

He might be an exciting player to watch but he's been more of the blowing hot and cold type of player similar to his last season at Sunderland. Starting to think it'll be his last season with us, too.
