WBA vs Peterborough - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 28-01-2016

I suppose the good news is that we didn't lose to Villa. The bad news, of course, is that it wasn't for lack of trying. As the transfer window grinds to an uneventful conclusion, clouds of negativity are setting in, but the FA Cup at least remains a ray of light piercing the gloom.
We face Peterborough, which is a quintessential Albion cup tie; we've only ever faced the Posh a half-dozen times in league competition, but this will be our twelfth cup meeting against them, and the fifth to be played within the last decade. Chasing the play-offs in League One and in somewhat patchy form, they are of course prime candidates to pull off the upset they've been denied in previous encounters.
Hopefully not, though. We made tough work of it against Bristol City, and I wouldn't blame Peterborough for fancying their chances on that basis, but we should have enough. I'm not particularly expecting fireworks, but if we can keep it professional, get the job done and be in the hat for the fifth round, that'll do me fine.

After lots of umming and arring I've just now booked tickets for myself and a few mates. Hoping this makes up for the lack of entertainment from the Villa game!
Won't be contributing to the thread much during the match but will hopefully be joining in later hopefully celebrating getting through to the next round AND some entertaining football as well.

The replay at London Road, the first half was one of the best passing performances I have ever seen from Albion, albeit against lower league opposition.

Technically it was the semi 2nd leg, Aries. Fair play for making the trip midweek - I couldn't have done it from school in time (although I bunked 1/2 day a few months earlier to go to Northampton on the Friday night when we went Top of the League!)

Talksaft, I was referring to the 2009 replay (which I went to) after the 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns (which I missed).
After the sublime passing, and Albion's goals from the two unlikeliest players (Jay Simpson and Paul Robinson*) a highlight was the Baggies fans singing to Craig Mackail-Smith, to the tune of Guantanamera, "You're just a shit Jimmy Bullard", which was a bit unsporting but funny all the same. I think he took our attention as a compliment, because he was dangerous on the night.
* Yes, I had to Google the goalscorers. Wasn't Robbo's goal a header?
