Hibs v Rangers - 01/11/15 - ritchiebaby - 26-10-2015

The Halloween celebrations will be on everyone's mind this weekend and the devout Hibees will be keen to ward off the evil spirits from Mordor at Easter Road. Hibs' aspirations to win this season's Championship will greatly depend on Sunday's result and it will set the scene until the return game at Ibrox in two months' time.

Hibs win = the deficit cut to 5 points and a great chance to pile on the pressure.
Draw = still 8 points behind and a long hard slog to catch up.
Rangers win = too much to make up without a 100% record from Hibs and a major Rangers slump (not going to happen).

This game will require a top-notch performance from Hibs' players. We're certainly good enough to beat them and I'm expecting a committed performance from the men in green. Rangers will be full of confidence from their unbeaten start, but will also be astute enough to realise that only a top performance from them will do against a talented Hibs team. There will be plenty of talk before the game but only the match will deliver the result. I'll forecast a Hibs 2 Tumshies 1 result to give the Championship a shot in the arm.

My starting line-up would be:-

Oxley,
Gray, Hanlon, Fontaine, Stevenson,
Bartley,
McGinn, McGeouch, Henderson,
Cummings, Malonga.

Subs - Fyvie, Boyle, Keatings.

Just for a bit of harmless fun (if such a thing still exists), let's have your suggestions for spooky names of Hibs and Rangers players - yes, I know I stole the idea from another board! I'll start with Colin Frankenstein and you can take it from there. Thumb up

I'd be starting keatings instead of malonga. Lacking that wee bit of composure in the finishing department was what scuppered us at ibrox.

Don't know about names for the players Ritchie.....as long as we pumpkin them.....I'll get my coat    Doh

My biggest criticism, preceding this match, is the £28 ticket price - that is a joke for even this category of match and there's no way it's good value for money! I can afford to buy a ticket but I'm not attending this game as a matter of principle and I'll bet there are lots of other Hibs fans who will do the same!!! I'll predict the attendance for this match will be no more than 11k fans. I'll save my money for next week's League Cup quarter-final v Mixu's new football club, United.

Hibs did themselves no favours during this match, a game we could well have won 1-2 or 1-3 on another day. I hope Stubbs reminds Hibs players how easily we ripped through Rangers defence once we got stuck in about them in the 2nd half - the lack of composure was indeed a huge failure!!

Take Tavernere out the game and hibs win.

Oops I should rephrase that after poor Oduwa,by take him out I mean nullify him keep him quiet and in his own half.

As long as no coach drivers are harmed.

Best part of 30 notes for a 2nd tier game is a feckin joke.
