but we have to beware thinking that, because a hate figure has gone, the problems are solved.
If Blatter had to be either complicit or the world's most-misled boss over what was happening (arf arf) ........ what are we to think of the rest of those at the top of world football who at best sucked it up and got on with it?
And though British football has been vocal, our World Cup bid oiled all over Jack Warner in the Caribbean though everyone knew he was the full nine-bob note. We talked to the arrested Paraguayan guy, who bizarrely demanded a knighthood and a seat in the House of Lords for his vote ......
My opinion is that, though there must be good people within FIFA, its procedure and history over forty years is so riddled with corrupt practices and thinking the whole body needs to be replaced. World football needs to form a new body - I'd brand it as The Beautiful Game - whose mission and procedures embrace transparency, honesty and fairness. It can't be the poodle of European Football, International Capital or Media Sponsors. It must develop football worldwide, not as FIFA has done by making local czars rich and feeding corruption, but by making it a peoples' game.
Do I think it will happen? Do I think Blatter will be replaced by an incorruptible? Do I think an organisation that builds on the beauty and honesty of the grassroots game will magically generate from FIFA's poisonous ashes?
I wish I could say yes.

The Golden Prince awaits in the wings. But as you say it wants a complete overhaul. First thing that needs to happen is the cancelation of the Russia and Catarh world cups. Lets see the sweat appear on Blatters face whilst he is keeping an eye out for the poison tipped umbrella.

If they'd let me make the decision as an emergency I'd simply award the 2018 Cup to the USA, if they want it and can commit to stage it - as the country which has done most to attack FIFA's corruption. It would upset Russia, especially as their bid was probably no more corrupt than any other bid in the last forty years, so they would be strongly encouraged to bid fairly for the 2022 Cup (they'd do a great job). Qatar could also bid again, but in view of its climate only its wealth would justify hosting. In a fair process I can't see how Qatar, killing Nepalese workers like so many flies, would ever come out on top ......
It would be great to have a World Cup here again, but I'd like to see us stand aside from the fray, help to rebuild the game, but try not to colonialise it. It would be great if two major powers like the USA and Russia could be seen to host the two World Cups that put international football back as a reputable sport.
By 2026 a truly Asian or African World Cup might be a prospect.

If the FBI seize all FIFA's funds who knows what might happen, but am pretty sure if they can prove the commie bastards behaved inappropriately they will let us all know with glee. Russia wont get a sniff if anything gets proven and any country found guilty of bribery should be banned from holding the world cup indefinitely imo. That should at least give us a shout in years to come.

Though I love your sentiments my head says just because you lost doesn't mean you didn't bribe people. If this were investigated historic child abuse style there might be a lot of Rolf Harris and Jimmy Savile's waiting to be exposed. If we banned all their countries we might not need qualifying rounds for the World Cup.
