Orient v Town - theo_luddite - 26-11-2024 ![]() The One time Snooker Loopy Stadium On a Road to nowhere near Darn Unda Pie 'n' Mash at Half Time Apples 'n' Pears for dessert. Kick-off 19:45 UK Time Tuesday 26/11/24 Town follow Saturday's visitors back down the M1, but hit the brakes north of Old Father Thames for a taste of The Orient, or maybe it's a Taste of Paradise? Here's hoping we come back with something other than a chocolate covered snack bar and we don't look like a proper bunch of coconuts again. By the way - the advert that follows the Bounty Bar features Cadbury's Smash. We all know where they refer to in that one. Originally scheduled on October 12th, they managed to reschedule it for an afternoon whilst I'm in Canada. (It's afternoon where I am). There's every chance I still won't get to watch it on the box/laptop let alone in the ground. Ho Hum. On the tellybox Having been moved to Tuesday it's on Sky Sports+ in the UK and HTTV for a fee, which is what used to be iFollow. Otherwise it's not officially being streamed in furrin lands. Latest news Heavy rain falls in Wales, Wales homes get flooded, again. Oh why do they build homes in Wales? The snow has melted in the UK, still none to be seen in the GTA, but other parts of Canada are getting their fair share of "flurries". Half-season cards on sale if you fancy one. Out Injured/Suspended/Isolating After scoring one header, hitting the bar with another, Pearson went off injured in the first half on Saturday with a foot injury as did Healey with a calf injury. Neither will be playing. Back training but not oven ready/Back in the frame Nobody else back off the long term sick list. Musical Interlude. Harking back to Barry Hearns days .... and as it's quarter past another bottle of cold fizzy beer time over here and I can't really be bothered to look, have some Hackney Diamonds. Hackney's just down the road from Leyton, so don't get angry with me. ![]() These embedded video's don't work very well anymore do they? Last time out Town won again to move back into the Top 6. The foul that hobbled Pearson resulted in a red card for the Charlton player.* Pearson however will likely miss more games than Docherty. Is that fair? * Corrected by Snoots in his post below. ![]() Orient went to Stevenage and drew 0-0, however other results around them meant they dropped below the trap-door. ![]() In the nose-bleeds, Wycombe won again at Lincoln to stay top. Wrexham moved into 2nd wth a 3-0 win at home to Exeter, whilst Stockport showed they've sorted out their wobbly wheels with a 0-3 win at bottom placed Burton to move into 3rd. That was at the expense of Brum, who felt the full force of the New Manager Bounce effect at Shrewsbury in an unexpected 3-2 defeat. Town jumped to 5th and Barnsley slipped to 6th after losing at home to Wigan. ![]() Down amongst the dead-men, Burton as above stay bottom, Shrewsbury's win still left them in 23rd below Cambridge who had drawn 0-0 at Northampton. Orient fell through the trap door as Crawley beat Rotherham 1-0. The Sack Race Steve Cooper turned his 3 year contract at Leicester to a 3-4 month stay on Monday. Unlucky #13 this season according to the website I use. The fans didn't like his more negative style of play and the board didn't like his lack of wins. W4, D4, L7. Since my last missive, some fool has steppd into the revolving door of criticism at Old Trafford again and Gareth Ainsworth has rocked up in Shrewsbury, to geat effect. Just ask Brum. Tables, Form & all those stats. ![]() We're still up in the nose-bleeds on form, but it's mostly due to our home form. ![]() ![]() ![]() They win a few, they draw a few, they lose a lot. After last season saw them embrace mid-table medocrity with an 11th place finish, four defeats in the first 4 games saw them rooted to the foot of the table at the start of this one. They then won two away, at Reading and with 4 of their goals coming in a battering of Stockport. In the same run they drew two at home to Posh and Wrexham, showing they really aren't a push over. However they lost the next 3 around the time this fixture should originally have been played. They then won two and lost two of the remaining fixtures before Saturday's drawn game. ![]() ![]() Innies and Outies Not a helluva lot of money swilling round this part of the Old East End of that there Larndan Tarn. ![]() Who's banging 'em in Centre forward Charlie Kelman is their leading scorer, but several others are chipping in, but not in big numbers. They've so far only scored 14 times in the League and 7 of those came in two games. ![]() They can't all win Three catch-up fixtures round out the matches posponed from October 12th. Wycombe will be looking to extend their lead whilst Mansfield will be looking to get back into the Top 6 after only collecting 1 point in ther last 3 games. Brum will also be looking to return to form. They've been playing more like Man City just recently. ![]() ![]() We've played 'em before Town are well ahead in the Head2Head fixtures. We've won 4, drawn 1 and lost 1 of our last 6 visits to Brisbane Road. ![]() Next up? It's FA Cup R2 weekend so we fans have a day off. Duff Duff has the squad in for training though as a reward for losing in the First Round. We are next at home to Wigan on Tuesday 3rd December. Pressers Duff Duff and Josh Koroma get the Radio Local treatment https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0k6ty0r https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0k6vjfz The view from the blocks of flats overlooking the corner flags at the Brisbane Road Ground (now Gaughan Group Stadium - no me neither). ![]() Richie Wellens on the Club Website .... well maybe not, unless you want to sign up to their website. So let's go to their YouTube Channel instead. Open thread The chances of me being anywhere near a working wifi before, during and for a period of time after the game are, well let's call it slim. Feel free to chip in with team sheets and anything else you can find. Normal(ish) service will resume on my next match thread, RE: Orient v Town - Lord Snooty - 26-11-2024 Nice one theo. The red card foul was on Lonwijk, not Pearson. Somebody said ar Matty got his ankle trodden on defending a corner. Duffster explained it's the one he'd had surgery on, so asked to come off. RE: Orient v Town - theo_luddite - 26-11-2024 Good spot Snoots ![]() It was another long day yesterday. I'm going to need a holiday when I get back to recover. RE: Orient v Town - Lord Snooty - 26-11-2024 As for the videos. Most annoying. ![]() RE: Orient v Town - ritchiebaby - 26-11-2024 You should have shoved in a reference to John Leyton (no relation) and his hit "Wild Wind", probably caused by too many dark chocolate Bounties! Never liked the dark ones. The ads brought back memories of back-lit, soft-focus shots of stunning babes with generous mouths - very sexist days back then. ![]() RE: Orient v Town - jjamez - 26-11-2024 I'm going to be keeping an eye on donley, heard good things about him and I personally wanted town to go after him RE: Orient v Town - Lord Snooty - 26-11-2024 TOWN’S TEAM vs LEYTON ORIENT (A) 13. RE: Orient v Town - Lord Snooty - 26-11-2024 Helik 1-0 Doesn't look good for Miller. ![]() RE: Orient v Town - Lord Snooty - 26-11-2024 Countless clear cut chances. All missed. Then Marshall scores with his arse. |
