Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Amelia Chaffinch - 08-03-2024 ![]() ![]() We're on the box again hence the stupidy Sunday midday kick-off.
![]() Obviously, the table may change with matches due to be played this evening and tomorrow.
The ball-tappers and goal-shunters social club
![]() Formation musings
![]() ![]() Carlos the cobra has favoured a 4-2-3-1 for the last 2 matches; home and away. The only change he made was to put Reach in at left-back instead of Conor Townsend who had gone off with a hamstring problem against Coventry.
Roving Baggies
If our Baggie friends are travelling, there's not much open around the ground these days. Not only do our facilities not look premier league any more, but I doubt they look League One to the visitor. Even Costa shuts before the final whistle on a regular kick-off day. That will be open. The Pizza Hut is holding on. I think the Apsley may be the closest establishment selling the demon drink but I'll stand corrected by anyone in the know on that.
Directions to the ground aren't necessary; just follow the deafening sounds of crap music that will be emanating from the ground. It's what some nutter believes to be suitable warm-up music.
![]() I long for the days of All Together Now, Who Let The Dogs Out and The Boys Are Back In Town.
![]() What the gaffer says (as well as professional Yorkshireman, Matty Pearson) and from Carlos the turncoat Corberan who now speaks highly of his time with us. Big of him.
Instead of played for both here are some women who done good in both our towns.
One of our suffragettes was Edith Key, not originally from Huddersfield but opened a shop here and now has a building named after her.
![]() You go, girls!
Betty Boothroyd from Dewsbury was MP for West Bromwich for 27 years. She later became first female Speaker of the House and I don't think there's been one since.
![]() That's me lot for today
RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - theo_luddite - 08-03-2024 Nice thread AmChaff and some new ideas. We have a Madam Deputy Speaker, Dame Eleanor Laing, but she's about as much use as a Chocolate Lindsay Hoyle when it comes to fireguards. He melts as soon as the first question to the PM goes unanswered and she's nearly as solid as he is, so you have to wonder what is the point of either of them. I see both our noisy neighbours are about to have a kick-fest. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Amelia Chaffinch - 08-03-2024 I don't want to support either of them so I'm ignoring them. Leeds who and what Wednesday? RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - theo_luddite - 08-03-2024 The Yorkshire Rose apparently normally opens at 09:00 on Sunday, well the nearby hotel guests presumably would like a (half) decent pre-match breakfast, the Brexit blokes pubs will no doubt open in town for what late night party goers call "supper", as will The Crown. Other establishments will open in accordance with their licensing regulations, most of which are 12:00 or later. All the normal fast food establishments (if you call grease burgers and chips normal for Sunday breakfast) will be tidying up from Saturday night from 8:00am or sooner, except those that are open 24 hours and never seem to bother to tidy up. Starbucks, Greggs and Subway will be open on the Leeds Road business park from silly o'clock, none of whom sell the demon drink, but do sell some food & drink options that should carry an equivalent NHS health warning. That also includes some of their their, er, veg options. You may need to pay more attention to how they are prepared. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Amelia Chaffinch - 08-03-2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - St Charles Owl - 09-03-2024 I noticed that Ritchie hasn’t been on the forum for nearly 3 weeks, do any of you know him outside of on here? Seems very strange for him to be gone for this long. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Lord Snooty - 09-03-2024 Aye. Hope he's alright. ![]() Talking of up there in Scotland. Neil Warnock has stepped down as Aberdeen boss. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - talkSAFT - 09-03-2024 Could be closer than you think. I'll just go 1-4. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Lord Snooty - 09-03-2024 Got to win to stay out of the bottom three. RE: Huddersfield Town v West Brom - Lord Snooty - 10-03-2024 Watford manager sacked. Took 'em a while. Thought he would've gone when we beat 'em. |
