What a fantastic way for DM to answer both that shocking racism AND losing the first leg so heavily!
Undoubtedly, also, the right team went through, after being about 50 points ahead of t'other in the final table...... but the comeback is off the scale.

Well done DM and Sheffield Wednesday!!

So chuffed for Big (Handsworth) Dave. What a Manager he might have been for us....we'll never know.

RE: Big Dave - BaggieSteve - 19-05-2023

His honesty, his decency and his humility just makes Big Dave stand out like the giant he is. Not one of those racist keyboard warriors would have the courage to make those remarks to his face yet he retains his dignity.
I so hope Wednesday get promoted and the Hawthorns gets the opportunity to pay its own tribute to him; what a reception he will get.

Big Big congrats to Big Dave, what a super human being he is. He has all the attributes that make him a person to look up to and admire. A true role model that young footballers and non footballers for that matter should try to emulate.
The first premier league manager to get manager of the month and relegated in the same month, the first manager to overturn a four goal first leg deficit in a playoff to win a trip to Wembley.
4-0 down still managed to motivate a team that must have been demoralised from missing out on automatic promotion from a strong league position and getting thumped away, they got a 98th minute equalizer to earn extra time. Then to concede an own goal, he got them going again, another equalizer and then a nerve jangling penalty shootout.

What a player, what a manager, what a man, what a LEGEND.

YOU'LL ALWAYS BE A BAGGIE.

BIG DAVE ....... CONGRATULATIONS. Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up

Go on now and win promotion. In the nicest possible way ...... Ram the bigot racist words of an abhorrent individual right down his throat. Claims to be a Wednesday fan, rather than get behind the team, the manager, his small mindedness means he missed the greatest play-off comeback and will hopefully be banned for life. His ignorance means he may, if there's any justice and real intent to eradicate racism in football, no longer watch the team he loves.

The racist twat has already been banned for life by the club and been outed on Owls forums. The players used this for motivation as well, they did it for Darren!!

SCO,

That's great news, you (that's the royal you, ie all clubs not you in particular) don't want or need people with bigoted attitudes tainting the names and fanbases of great clubs and communities.
Good luck at Wembley.

RE: Big Dave - drewks - 19-05-2023

Big Dave is a very special, humble person who, I would think, EVERY sane person would like to succeed!

RE: Big Dave - Blue Baggie - 23-05-2023

Big Dave deserves all the credit, great job.
Good manners gets it's rewards.
As.a mentor you could not have a better role model.

RE: Big Dave - drewks - 20-06-2023

Only just seen Big Dave has left SW.... 'mutual consent'....
Seems very strange after the recent success - anyone in the know about how and/or why??
